How is the nuke test good for Repukes?

Forgive my complete ignorance. Some political analyst said on the ole tv this morning that people focusing on the NK nukes would be good for the Republicans in the reelection. The same guy said focusing on Iraq was good for Dems. I don't get it. How is the NK nuclear test good for Cons? I would think having allowed a hostile nation to become a nuclear power would be politically bad for them.

So all they (the average american voter) see is "Hmmm...right now scary country have big bomb. TV say republicans protect me from scary people with big bombs. I vote republican. Fire bad."

instead of "Hmm....we've known about this growing threat for years now and Clinton did a great job of containing it and then Bush took office and took a completely different approach which allowed this to happen on his watch."

That appears to be what's happening. I have not feared the nuclear threat in the past, but now I do, with these idiots at the helm... president who outs nuclear intelligence agents, mispronounces the word nuclear and "the internets," and generally shows incompetence at every turn, and a load of automatons supporting him because he is "just like them," which is stupid.

All this happened on Dubya's watch. Sometimes good ol' common sense trumps ideology.

No one except harmless automatons believes anymore that Iraq was a credible WMD threat, and our military is pledged to "stay the course" there....meanwhile, NK develops a nuke and tests it. All this does is highlight just how much a failure this regime has become, with their skewed priorities.

Sheeple don't look beyond the obvious so they won't know the reason we're in this mess is because King George and his merry band of wingnuts has spent the last few years ignoring and "dissing" North Korea.
