Why MSM exposing Lancet study NOW?
To my knowledge, this has been the third study on Iraqi civilian deaths published in The Lancet- each one showing significantly higher death toll than widely reported in our MSM at the time they were published. The last one, some months agao, reported at least 300,000 Iraqi civilian deaths. Like the study before it,reporting at least 100,000 deaths, it was ignored by our MSM. One could find these only on the Internets.

So, why is THIS study published in WSJ, and all over the MSM now? When they couldn't be bothered with reporting it before?

Is it because Woodward's charge that the WH was withholding bad news about Iraq and not providing Americans with unpleasant relaities? Or the media is embarrassed by their role in suppressing bad news on behalf of the B*sh admin? Or the corporations who own media outlets know which side their bread is buttered on, and are detecting a power shift?

What could account for this sudden act of transparancy, on the part of our shitty media?

8. It's a reference to the Plame Investigation
Scooter Libby wrote a letter to Judith Miller when she was in jail with a reference to the aspens and how when they turn, they all turn together.

In regards to wagging tongues, I think we are going to see a lot more of that in the next few days and weeks. Seems there are at least a few patriots in the US who have been waiting for the right time to act. Should be an exciting time.

BTW: I passed along the info you sent. I hope they can work something out.

4. CNN International
are using the +600000 figure as is on teletext - whereas ITV teletext here in the UK is expressing it slightly differently. They have expressed it as more than 600,000 deaths than would otherwise have been the normal figure prior to the 2003 invasion. That seems to me to be a fair way of expressing the situation. Not sure exactly how the Lancet has expressed it

Yes - I think you're right about it being the third progressive figure over a period of time.

9. The MSM is as scared as we are at what these bastards have done and
are doing to this country. They KNOW they were complicit with their "Shock and Awe" made-for-TV, non-stop coverage of the illegal invasion. They kissed this administration's ass for 6 freakin' years and now they feel the GUILT and are feeling pretty damn STOOPID about it.

I have seen a determination in the media like I haven't seen in 6 years. They see the dangers and they are taking this bunch of warmongers DOWN. Notice how they haven't let the Foley Fallout story die? They have NO INTENTIONS of letting that story go until AFTER the election. They keep saying..."This story has legs." "This story isn't going away." "This is the gift that keeps on giving for the Democrats." They aren't letting this one die...on purpose.

10. The dam is breaking.
With the changing of the guard will come hearings, testimony, loud recriminations, and a lame duck presidency.

The slack jawed corporate owners of old media are now heirs to thirty five years of puke claims of liberal bias, hated by everyone-the liberals because of their kowtowing to and proselytizing for the rrr and by the rrr because of the perceived left tilt.
The requirement for a maximum profit coupled with the ascendancy of new media has left them in the unenviable position of holding a property having an unstable base and now on the wrong side of the coming changes in direction.

They also are clear that the long term memory of the average public is so short that three months from now the common assumption will be that the "media" has always held the position that the casualties were twenty times as high as reported by bushco.

People are gullible because they think they are not and the old media policy makers are very aware of that.

TWICE as many as he's killed ... and that was over 20 years!

But hey, it's just a number, right?
