Republicans have pulled their ads because they know they've already lost
Edited on Wed Oct-11-06 12:09 PM by ck4829
"Republicans have become resigned to the idea that they will be losing congressional seats in the mid-term election as political commentators on the left and right are listing once safe GOP seats as potential Democratic pickups. Recognizing that they are facing an almost certain loss, the Republican National Committee has pulled its advertising budget from races with Democratic incumbents and investing heavily ion Ohio, Tennessee and Missouri where they are defending seats. The GOP is hoping to create a firewall against the loss with the hope of maintaining a slim majority in the U.S. Senate."

1. Another piece of the puzzle
Yesterday there was a post about Limpballs saying that if the Repubs only lost ONE house it would be a victory for them and a stunning defeat for (or confirmation of the ineptitude of)Democrats.

Obviously, the fax machine in Limpballs studio is a direct line to Rove's office....

So the strategey becomes clear. Hold onto the Senate at all costs...

and just why would the Senate be so important?

Maybe because, the House can pass a bill of Impeachment, but the trial and ultimate vote to remove a President from office takes place in the Senate....

3. Hastert is running radio spots in Chicago
I don't remember him ever having to do that before. He must be down in the polls.

i can`t find any polls on this race. he must be a bit on edge but he`d have to lose over 20+% of the republican votes..
i don`t listen to radio so i don`t know how much he`s spending out here...i did find this--

4. I think they're pulling them because the content has become nullified
It's not like they can claim the moral high ground any more. That was formerly the meat of most Repuke campaign ads, both positive and negative.
