Fitzmas came to Illinois in time for an October Suprise...
Fuck Fitzgerald.

The guy is god damned shill.

Today, just weeks before the election, he indicts one of the Democratic governor's fundraisers.

There is no way the trial will happen before the election, and so now we will get to hear about this up until voting day, regardless of weather or not the guy is guilty.

What a convenient time for this to happen, where the Republicans are struggling in IL.

Fuck Patrick Fitzgerald. He's let Rove and Cheney off the hook, and now he just handed the IL governorship to George "Liscense for Bribes" Ryan's treasurer.

2. So if Fitzgerald finds fraud and impropriety, he shouldn't indict
because someone is a Democrat? The guy is doing his job. You have no idea where his investigation is going re: Rove and Cheney. He hasn't ended his investigation.

Fitzgerald isn't a liberal champion, he is a prosecutor doing his job. When he nailed Ryan, were you screaming FUCK YOU FITZ!!!111

4. Nah
Republicans are struggling in IL because of Fitzgerald. He got George Ryan. Judy still can't distance herself from George.

Blagojevich isn't the one indicted so only Republicans will care. That means DuPage County and all the northwest will vote red, and Cook County and the rest of the state - including the sizeable Serbian population downstate - will vote blue.

But I agree the timing sucks. If the GOP can ask why Foley was exposed the last day Congress was in session, we can certainly ask why the timing of this indictment couldn't wait if, as Fitzgerald said, it's not politically motivated.

6. Best Case Scenario for Illinois >
Blago is re-elected, accepts blame for the hiring and fundrasing transgressions of his underlings, steps down just wounded enough that his public office days are over without taking the IL. Dem party with him, and Pat Quinn finishes the term, building momentum to be elected on his own in 2010.
