The Purgatory of October... |
|
Somewhere between Heaven and Hell lies Purgatory. We don't really know which side we stand. However, we hope in November to NOT be stuck in Hell with George Bush and the Republicans. We need a change - even if it is unpredictable. We know we cannot continue the direction we are going.
In politics, October is the cruelest of months. We wait anxiously for the "October Surprises". We watch as the desperate politicians say and do unpredictable things - Chris Shays, for example. We try to stay above all the negativity that peaks in October. We witness wide-eyed as the tragedy unfolds.

There are just some days that I have to gear it down a little, just for my own sanity.

3. The thing I like best about October |
|
is my birthday. I hope any October surprises that happen do NOT happen on the 16th. I guess that's kind of shallow, but there it is. My friend Peggy's birthday is on September 11th, poor thing. :hi:

And all I want for my birthday, is a Democratic Majority in both houses of Congress.
Is that too much to ask?
BTW Kentuck... I feel exactly the same way about October in even numbered years these days.
