I want to vote now
I don't want there to be 3 more weeks of a campaign to go. 3 more weeks for Karl Rove to get his mitts all over the political landscape. Everything is right where we want it right now. Yet, I just can't bring myself to be too happy because I know that there are three more weeks left. Why can't elections be held in October, rather than November?

1. "Why can't elections be held in October..."
Because too many people would obsess over September Surprises.

2. Yeah, no KIDDING!
Let's call for a national "no confidence" vote or what-the-heck-ever they call it in other countries.

:applause:

3. Its incredible to think (and yes you are right)
that anyone in America could have their vote altered by anything a republican smear machine could do in the next three weeks.

I can not understand any American who is torn now about which party to vote for. I haven't voted for a republican since I cast my vote for Gerald Ford in 1976 when I was 22 years old. It wasn't a political party vote, I just thought the man was honest. Once I got to know democrat from republican there has been no wavering of my voting pattern.

In an ironic twist, rove is probably wanting people to vote now too because it might get worse for his kind in the next three weeks.

5. In chess
a player can be in a position called "zugzwang". It means that he has a good position as it stands, but if he moves any man, the position turns to crap. And it's his turn to move.

The metaphor is far from perfect, but you get the drift. We're in good position to win, right now. But the election isn't until November. Plenty of time for everything to turn to crap on us. Especially the way KKKarl Rove plays the game.

But console yourself. If the elections were held in October, then in August or September you would have been wishing they were held then. The suspense is hard on everyone.

7. I did!
I received my absentee ballot yesterday, filled it out last night, and dropped it off at the post office this morning. That should give Phil Angelides, John Garamendi, Jerry Brown, John Chiang, Debra Bowen, Bill Lockyer Darrell Steinberg and Bill Durston a one vote lead. Sorry to Cruz Bustamonte, but I just couldn't vote for you. Especially if you're going to be my boss.
