2. He lives with his chief of staff and deputy chief of staff
The "lover" part is speculation, unless she has proof. I really don't want that image in my head.

Not at the boys pad.

No gay marriage there...Hastert's already married...so I guess he's living in sin!

4. Is this live in lover suppose to be a man or woman?
And one would think if it's true even the MSM would report this.

16. I'm wide awake neighbor and have been for way to many years,
my point was with the Foley flap going on this would be if true, something the MSM should and would report on.

If this is just a nasty rumor being sent around i want no part of it, i'm tired of being played by unscrupulous repugs,

7. i found this on a wp blog
"There is also much focus on the relationship between House Speaker Dennis Hastert and his chief of staff, 56-year old Scott Palmer. Hastert and Palmer, Hastert's longtime unmarried adviser, live together in a DC townhouse along with Hastert's Deputy Chief of Staff, Mike Stokke, while Hastert's wife Jean lives in Yorkville, Illinois and stays at a hotel when she visits Washington."

13. I think she is on to something...
it is so weird for someone in senior leadership to live with other people. Though Tom DeLay had a cheapo apartment, he didn't live with anyone else.

On top of that, there is this story about Hastert's wife coming to town, and instead of staying with her husband at the townhouse, she stayed at a hotel. That might be fine and dandy (she might not feel comfortable around the other two guys) but her husband didn't stay with her. WEIRD!

14. Well...
The rumors about another top GOP member of the House being involved in sexual encounters with young "men for hire" are confirmed to WMR by well-placed sources in Washington's gay community. The member in question is House Speaker Dennis Hastert, whose "alternate" life style is the primary reason for him and his staff covering up the scandal involving ex-Florida GOP Rep. Mark Foley and his lewd messages sent to underage male congressional pages. Hastert's penchant to receive anal sex is well-known to our sources in DC's gay community. Additionally, Hastert's reported extremely small penis is the subject of many jokes among Washington's gay circles.

WMR reported on old charges that swirled around Hastert when he was a high school wrestling coach at Yorkville High School in Yorkville, Illinois. Hastert decided to enter politics in 1980 after rumors surfaced about inappropriate contact with male high school students.

In July, Hastert was hospitalized at Bethesda Naval Hospital for cellulitis, a bacterial skin infection. In the Feb. 7, 2003 issue of AIDS Treatment News, doctors reported that they saw "a large increase in aggressive, antibiotic-resistant 'staph' (Staphylococcus aureus) skin infections in gay men in some areas -- and a separate epidemic in certain prisons. Symptoms include boils or blisters; treatment can be difficult, and sometimes requires hospitalization. One HIV doctor in Los Angeles who used to see about one case a year is now seeing two a week. In the past this infection occurred mainly in hospitals." The reports of serious skin infections among gay men was also reported in the Los Angeles Times on Jan. 27, 2003.

15. Using the Patrick McHenry Rule
Can Hastert prove that he and his chief of staff aren't lovers? Patrick McHenry said without facts or evidence of any kind, that the Democrats were behind the timing and the revelation of the Mark Foley scandal -- on national TV, no less -- and when challenged asserted that it's up to Nancy Pelosi to prove that she didn't know about Foley. I think the same standard applies to Hastert and his chief of staff: It's up to them to prove that they're not gay lovers.

Seems only fair to me.

22. No...
This stuff seem pretty surreal considering Republicans' anti-gay platform. It's even weirder how their only response is "wha... look at the timing..." as if they just needed more time to mentally recondition their flock.

23. It's classic doublethink.
On the one hand, being gay is equivalent to being the devil, but your party leader lives with another man and no one bats an eye. Surreal is right.

24. Sorry, but I call BS on this one.
This silliness is right up there with the righties claiming Hillary is a lesbian because her and Bill spend most of their time apart. It's stupid and unnecessary. IMHO people oughta leave the whole gay/straight/bi thing alone. It has NOTHING to do with the fact Hastert protected a child molester.

26. I'm not ready to give up on it...
Whereas peoples' sex lives are their own business folks give up that right to privacy once they start preying on kids, especially those that they are supposed to be responsible for and mentoring. I think it's plausible that since many people knew about Foley, they must have some reason not doing anything. I apologize for being crude here, but, pretty much every guy needs to have regular sex, even slow moving grotesque Jabba the Hutt looking men, maybe them even moreso, so unless he has mistresses then it is logical to start looking toward his single male housemate(s).

30. You made a key point
Hastert needs to produce the mistresses to kill the story.

And not just paid floozies who'll say anything to clear his good name, but (probably paid) floozies who can verify they've been with him.

Edited on Thu Oct-12-06 03:36 PM by DearAbby
here in Denver, a caller had called in talking about the scandal and Hastert, he mentioned "LITTLE DIGGER" I was working on the 'puter, so I didn't hear the entire conversation.

Said that there is other news regarding Hastert, that could come out, "LITTLE DIGGER" was mentioned.

I have no idea, but with what was mentioned in another post above about his small member being laughed about in DC Gay circle...LITTLE DIGGER?
