HOLY SHIT, CHECK THIS OUT, Seat-By-Seat Poll, GOP MASSACRE
Edited on Thu Oct-12-06 04:57 PM by Grebrook
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/RCP_PDF/RT-CD_Oct12.pdf

Summary: Democrats lead in 23 house seats, are tied or marginal in about 6 more, including Peter King's district, the firebrand Republican

That's an easy 15 seats, and it doesn't include polls of seats we know we will automatically win:

Tx - 22
Arizona - 8

It also doesn't include another full 2 dozen close house races. Everyone needs to get out and vote and translate this massacre off ink and paper and into real time.

EVERY SINGLE OHIO SEAT POLLED SO FAR has shown the Democrats winning. I'm telling you that Ohio is going to give the Dems at the very least, 3 seats, and if we're lucky, as many as 7.

Mean Jean is losing
Bob Ney's open seat is heading strongly towards the Dems
Deborah Pryce is losing
OH-1 Chabot is losing as well

That's four seats that have been polled. How hillarious would it be if we destroyed John Boehner himself on election day? Threw out Boehner, the Majority Leader? The OHIO GOP is about to get decapitated.

1. it's good, but many of those leads are very close and the GOP
ground game in the end has been very effective. We need to really make sure dems vote and hopefully the gop will be demoralized and not vote.

24. One variable - GOTV money.
I read somewhere today that the GOP is going to sink a million bucks into trying to hold on to Foley's seat.

If so many races are looking so bad for them, they're going to have to pour more resources into just trying to pull even in the polls.

And don't forget, there ain't no Abramoff money coming in this time.

Let's hope that the GOP goes into panic mode and starts spending on media buys. That'll be money that won't be around for GOTV.

I'm trying to keep all these predictions of a Dem landslide in perspective, but it sure would be nice to take back both houses and be able to screw with Bush's head for two years. :)

2. Did you notice Mark Foley at 43%?
The date of the poll 10-12-06, some people in that district just aren't paying attention.

Edited on Thu Oct-12-06 07:23 PM by Mr_Spock
It may be due to the fact that they cannot replace him on the ballot and the substitute Republican has to be elected by a "Mark Foley" vote.

3. .
Yes, generally good but close.

Also the race Laesch-Hastert could be interesting: 42-52. Considering that Laesch has almost no money, I think that's not too bad. A loss for Hastert would be just great.

10. Hastert is accustomed to
an approval rating around 70%. This will cause panic among the Repubs in this district.

that Congress won't be able to achieve a quorum without allowing Republickers to vote by telephone from prison.

20. massacre
When you say 'GOP massacre' or 'German massacre' or 'Russian massacre,' aren't the GOP, Germans or Russians the ones doing the massacre-ing? That's why I thought Dem massacre was more appropriate.

15. King's seat is tougher than it should be.
Former NYC Mayor (and nominal Dem) Ed Koch is running ads supporting King, partly because of his recent "homeland security" credentials.. (Not that he managed to get commensurate anti-terror $$ away from midwest petting zoos)

The Israel lobby is a factor.

He is debating his competition (Dave Mejias, http://www.daveforamerica.com/index.php) on Oct. 17th. I'll try to get the debate up on YouTube.

38. I just researched Shuler
after reading about him in Rollingstone and am not too happy. He is anti-choice and "wants to stay in Iraq until the job is done". How is that different from a repuke? Can't the Dems recruit better than that? I know from the article he was hounded by Emmanuel to run. What a disappointment

:(

that is the House as opposed to the Senage, correct?
And I understand the significance of the red vs. blue colors, but why are some not colored (grey)? Are those seats not up this election?

Excuse my ignorance please, I'm Canadian. :)

21. Yes, House. Colored is an October poll. Grey was an August poll.
Every House seat is up for election every two years.

Senate seats are up for election every 6 years, which means that every two years about 1/3 of the Senate seats are up for election.

If you want to see grassroots it's alive and it's real right here in the 8th district of North Carolina, take a look at our web page that I have in our sig. I feel sick with anxiety, I hope I make it until November 7!!

The corruption in Ohio is so out of control that the people know they have to get rid of these guys, even if it means turning everything over to the DEMS.
