Who Has Committed to Phone Bank to Walk or to Help in Your District?
As with every election, I will be working with my long-time friends here locally to phone bank on election day to help remind voters to get to the polls. Even right up until the polls close, reminding folks coming home from work where they need to go to vote and to please do so for our Democrats.

We are down to the wire.

They have Diebold and dirty tricks.

But we have the people. Get out the Vote.

Even volunteering for anything at your local Democratic candidate's HQ is huge. Please help.

1.  I walked for over a month
til my back just couldn't take it anymore! Now I'll have to move to phone banking as soon as I feel better. I don't know if we will win this or not but I have to know that I tried to actually do something besides complain about the sorry state we are in.

And don't forget putting up signs and writing letters. We shouldn't let false statements by opponents go unchallenged.

7. I did it in 2004 in NM.
I can't fly there for this election, and Silicon Valley is Waaaay BLUE. We even voted against the Gropenator. I'm donating $$, not much time in this election.

Cheers to those who do it in this election!:toast:

35. If you have time, come out to Tracy or Brentwood and
walk and or call for McNerney. There's also phone banks for him in SF. I know there's a group from the East Bay who are organizing car pools for volunteers. There may be a group in the Silicon Valley. If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll find a group in your area that is helping with his campaign. I would love to defeat Pombo.

I'm alos helping on the Charlie Brown/Doolittle race north of Sacto. That's further but it's fun to work in a district so different than my own.

8. Thank you so much for this reminder, David. It's huge.
As a District Coordinator who's running 4 GOTV (10 precincts and maybe more if we can get more volunteers) teams on election day, this is an important reminder.

See my desperate plea from this am: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=2378579&mesg_id=2378579 Thanks DU!

Just doing what I can (actually, my District has 42 precincts that I'm technically responsible for, but, with my limited volunteers, we're only focusing on 10 to 15 prime locations for our GOTV -- that's why your message is so important! We can all do more if we get more volunteers between now and E-Day!)

Doesn't have to be yours, and doesn't have to be much. Get a bumper sticker, or a yard sign. Do a little phone banking. Every bit helps.

34. Me!
I felt so much better after volunteering - it's actually doing something to change this country instead of just complaining about how things are. There's so many Dem candidates running great campaigns right now, but they're usually underfunded compared to the Republican incumbents & need all the help they can get.

This link leads to Democratic volunteer opportunities in each state - http://www.democrats.org/page/content/volunteer/

36. Doing double time. I am walking for a Dem LD candidate in
the 88th in Ky. I am also a District captain for a ballot initiative. Today I corralled two volunteers, did some internal phone banking, delivered some signs, replaced some stolen signs, then did a knock in grin to finish off a precinct.

Now I am relaxing. Tomorrow I am just going to phone bank and get ready for a big lit drop for the candidate Saturday.

44. You'd be surprised.
Dean's 50 state strategy was panned by a lot of people. Who would have ever thought that Harold Ford, Jr. would be kicking Corker's ass in the state that wouldn't even support Al Gore? And look at McCaskill killing Talent in Missouri!

Your state gave us Jimmy Carter and Max Cleland (he won, by the way).

Georgia needs to come home again.

I try to do something every week. So far this year I did a house party for the local dem party, a voter registration project, two nights of phone banking and tomorrow I will be knocking on doors.

The congressional race in NC 08, where I am, is interesting. Larry Kissel, the dem challenger is now +7 in the latest poll. Time to GOTV, ya know? :)
