Everyone is always asking if The Daily Show and The Colbert Report hurt...
the news, and American politics.

I say no.

They really make you think about issues in a different way and ask yourself, "Well you know I saw that news report, but the way Jon Stewart puts it, maybe I should look into it a little further." "Maybe what they are telling me really is nonsense and I am not getting the whole story." I think that they help make people think through comedy.

Plus they add some relief to the madness. If you do not laugh, you are setting yourself up for stress related issues. Laughter helps in so many ways.

12. They put a spin on it that the corparate controlled media never shows.
And they even seem to be the inspiration for Robbin Williams new movie Man of the Year!

I have said before it is A shame when you see comedy posted as the news in the media "Runaway Bride" story hiding Real News "The Downing Street Memo". Mark Clarr's dinner menu in route from Thailand while hiding a story of a Federal Judge telling the president to stop violating the constitution and breaking the LAW.

Jon Stewart for President - The Movie
It's pretty obvious somebody in some board room said "Y'now, What if Jon Stewart actually did run for President?"

If the idea of a "fake news man" running for President isn't enough evidence to suggest that this is about Jon Stewart... Well Lewis Black is also in the film. I will definitely be watching this one. Also Check out the film's homepage for more clips.

Here is a Black interview I found from when he was in Canada filming this film. http://www.canada.com/topics/entertainment/story.html?id=a6194208-4ee7-4738-beb0-223003d6bb03&k=82285

'Man of the Year' is about Electronic Voting
We posted the trailer for 'Man of the Year' some time ago, well Robin Williams was on Real Time with Bill Maher and talked about how the movie has more of a plot then just a comedian running for President, it's about Electronic Voting... Be sure to check out the film, it's in theatres this month.
