Read my lips - no more sex scandals
In 1988, George Bush , Sr uttered that now famous phrase, "Read my lips - no new taxes". When the deficit become such a drag on the economy that he had to agree to some taxes to restore confidence to the marketplace, his Party deserted him. He lost to Bill Clinton in 1992.

Now, the Republican base is on the verge of deserting their Party once again. They have been disappointed and embarrassed by the Foley revelations and they are hanging on by a thread. There is another story out today about another Republican involved with pages in some manner or another and that could be the "read my lips" moment if it reaches the press to the same degree as the Foley story.
