I love you CINDY SHEEHAN and I wish you all the best!
Thank you for the tribute you've been paying to your son and all the other victims of this war. And thank you for never giving up.

She never backs down from the RW and their abuse of our troops. Bush STILL to this day, will not talk to her - it would mean he would have to face his mistakes. Can't have that.

something. I've had the HONOR of meeting Cindy in person and I'm going to tell you this about her. She's no different than your best friend Sally down the block. She wants to know for what NOBLE purpose her son was sent to die. That's it. Simple.

You say you would follow bush around if it were your son that died over there in that unjust war of choice. Exactly what Cindy is doing.

and not her as a person. I don't know her as a person. I'm not slamming her so don't be so defensive.

I do know, if it were my son, and I pray it never is, I would be on bush's coattails, but I wouldn't go to Venuzuala and a few other things I don't agree with her on.

I'm not a fan of hers, but I do respect her sacrifice. If she truly believes in everything she does, more power to her.

P.S. 'Let me tell you something' doesn't come across as a friendly comment.

It was a response to the pinhead who trivialized her loss in such an uncaring way. No mother who loses her child like this, I don't care who she is, should be talked to or done this way. No, I'm not a fan, but it pisses me off that people like that trivialize a devestating loss. It's wrong.

79. "help end the criminals running the government"
Edited on Fri Oct-13-06 09:58 AM by RestoreGore
How? They have now reportedly sent ships to the Persian Gulf near Iran. Looks like their PNAC plan is right on schedule. So I really would then like to know exactly how we are going to stop these criminals running the government when people won't even talk about impeachment, and condone them passing bills regarding torture and anything else they want. To help end the criminals running the government you will need to topple the entire system from top to bottom. So again, just how is that going to be carried out now? I really would like to know, because I woke up this morning and they are still there and will still be there no matter who wins Congress. And just as a disclaimer, this opinion doesn't make me an idiot, so if you are going to respond with namecalling, don't bother at all.

It's useless and I know that already. But then, knowing Bush was in the White House, I would never allow my son to join the military in the first place. However, I would be lobbying Congress relentlessly to have him impeached.

parents don't "allow" their adult children to join the military. It is the decision of the young adult. Not every parent of a child serving in Iraq favored the decision to enter the military, though ALL of them love and support their children once they are there.

So perhaps some could stop making this breach BIGGER by dismissing them in favor of putting only one on a pedastal. And my adult son will not join the military because I haven't instilled it in him now. He knows what this is about. THAT was my point.

91. All who lose children in war regardless of politics deserve our tears
As a mother as well, I appreciate them all. And perhaps we could have made more headway regarding ending this war if it hadn't once again become a Democrat vs. Republican issue as Ms. Sheehan and others have now made it by becoming a tool exclusively of Democratic organizations. We could have galvanized more people of other political leanings to the cause of demanding this war end now based on morality had this not become such a bitter partisan political issue, and the fault for that falls on Democrats and Republicans. Those who die in war should have no political distinction for they are all Americans, and regardless of politics none of them deserved to die at the hands of those in both Parties who put their own aspirations before human life. You appreciate her voice and that is absolutely your right, and as a mother I can sympathize with her loss. However, I don't idolize her and think that her friendship with Hugo Chavez and other actions hurt the anti-war movement's credibility. I hope that opinion is allowed without me being called names and having my head bit off. My last words on this anyway.

92. She would be the first to agree with that.
But it is not HER fault this is a Democratic vs. Republican issue. That's the fault of the Republican administration that began this war on the basis of false intelligence, and the fault of the Republican Congress who -- with only a handful of exceptions continue to strongly support Bush's war.

You say she became a "tool" of Democratic organizations. What alternative did she have? No Republican organization was EVER the slightest bit interested in listening to her. They were all too busy defending Bush and pretending that the war was going well.

21. Cindy is for real
Edited on Thu Oct-12-06 08:19 PM by omega minimo
Cindy guested on Wed. on Steph Miller Show. Stephanie said, "Everyone who meets Cindy Sheehan falls in love with her."

I got to meet her and had a good bit of time to visit and talk. She is very real, down to earth and loving. She is humble, as the truly great people are.

Cindy is a great example (as have other Nobel Peace Prize recipients been) of what a single courageous "normal" individual can do to inspire others by saying You Can Do This Too. She may get the Prize, but she doesn't need or want a pedestal. She has her feet planted firmly on the earth and in the truth.

Imagine her putting the million $ question to Bush again before a world audience...

But I don't see it happen, with the Swedes.

64. Cindy deserves that prize!!
She pretty much single handedly galvanized the peace movement in this country. The amazing thing is that it was almost accidental. She just decided that when shit-for-brains blew her off, she wanted a reasonable explanation of why she lost Casey. She decided she would camp out next to his property till she got one.

She is so eloquent and so dedicated and so principled that everyone gathered around her.

I cant think of anyone else who mobilized more energy for peace (Ghandi, MLK included).

It would have to be an infinite improvement over what we've got.

75. Cheers for "Standing by Your Man" who called out the "Devil"
The MSM all said you lost your credibility by supporting Hugo Chavez, but you stuck to you principles.

You deserve real admiration.

82. We love you Cindy. We support your nomination for this
Nobel Peace Prize. Two summers ago we placed a go Cindy sign outside our house. Police officer from my town threatened us with a ticket if we didn't take down the sign. I checked with Police chief and he said his policeman was short on learning curve. Police have followed my husband homes many times since this, and now they have arrested my husband who was coming home from work at 1:00 in morning after working second shift as a RN. They gave him three breath tests which he past and then they took his blood. Police Chief said he had no rights. No phone call, no attorney. Lets hope more people come to hear Cindy's voice as a voice of reason, instead of seeing her and those who support her as a terrorist or standing with Osama. Two weeks before this arrest someone taped a, Cindy stands with Osama, sign over our cindy sign.

86. We are just starting to fight.
We attended a debate between Sennsenbrenner, author of patriot act, and Kennedy. We meet a doc. who said that it is an embarrassing fact that the medical community cannot not protect our privacy from these folks who consider you a terrorist. They can riffle through supposed private records.
