Tempting Faith: Christian Conserveratives Duped by BushCo. Part II
By: John Amato on Thursday, October 12th, 2006 at 6:12 PM - PDT

Last night I reported on Olbermann's breaking story about Kou's new book "Tempting Faith," which paints a picture of the lies and deceit offered to the Christian Right by Rove and Bush to secure their votes. This is an explosive story with ramifications that should effect the millions of Evangelicals that have been hoodwinked by Bush's White House into voting them in office. We'll see what their reaction will be (if any) in the upcoming days. It's politics pure and simple for Rove and he will do anything–anything to ensure a Republican victory—no matter who he hurts in the process. Tonight on Countdown it continued.

"Tempting Faith" also suggests that the Bush White House would use anything for politics.

Video-WMP Video-QT

Olbermann: Among them, that–behind their backs–the nation's top evangelical Christians were regarded with routine mockery and contempt by White House staffers — called 'nuts' and 'ridiculous'.

Among them, that–behind their backs–the nation's top evangelical Christians were regarded with routine mockery and contempt by White House staffers — called 'nuts' and 'ridiculous'.

Rough Transcript Below:

Eight words, attributed to Karl Rove, by author and former Special Assistant to the President David Kuo, that could by themselves very well decide those mid-terms.

Our fifth story on the Countdown: part two of our look inside Mr. Kuo's extraordinary new book, "Tempting Faith" — written from his earlier vantage point as the number two man in Bush's Office Of Faith-Based Initiatives…

And though it's a very large tip — the Rove quote is just the tip of the proverbial iceberg.

duped after this, they truly are hopelessly gullible.

7. The sad thing is that the people who most need to hear this
live in a vacuum. They only read, listen to or watch Christian media (and the people in positions of leadership within Christian media) for their information. When they watch, hear or read 'secular' media they don't take it seriously and are likely to dismiss it immediately....using the defense that such information is 'worldly' and therefore biased and tainted, even if it's true.

16. you are so right..
and the scary thing is that they will still continue to control the outcome of any number of elections. With 100+ million members their influence on politics is staggering. Anyone have links or stories about their 'recruiting' efforts in Iraq????

12. Damn who would have guessed it?
The emporer has no clothes, no skin and no backbone. Can these decievers sink any lower? At this stage nothing is too far fetched. I'm waiting for Barbara Bush to peel back her skin and reveal that the whole gang is actually an alien race sent to destroy Earth!

13. And Scarborough challenged this with
they all do it. The democrats use the environmental "kooks" and laugh at them behind their backs....it's a political thing, and both sides do it.

He laughed that Rove would be asked for advice about a faith-based issue since he's in charge of the "political" side of things.

Scarborough was revolting yesterday...he was covering for Carlson, in addition to his timeslot post KO. I was working & didn't have control of the damn TV, or it would have been turned OFF.

17. still say DNC needs to buy 10,000 of the books
and as a public service distribute them to churches, newspaper editors, radio station managers, etc. across the country. Assuming that neocons read even a 10% response rate would cause a stir.

18. These people spend their whole time ....
thinking about ways to get the Clintons. Instead of taking care of the country. It seems as though everytime they are thinking up some policy they have to find a way to bring up the clintons.
