Oh Boy... If True, This Is Rich... (Re: Bob Ney)

<snip>

The House Republican leadership released a statement today saying that if Rep. Bob Ney (R-OH) doesn't resign by the time Congress reconvenes after the election, then they will "move to expel him immediately."

But Bob's taking his time. His lawyer said this morning he won't be stepping down for a "few weeks," because he's got some housekeeping to do.

That "housekeeping" may include picking up a final Congressional paycheck: As Roll Call points out, "House employees get paid on the first of every month, so if Ney remains in his seat until at least Nov. 1, he will receive one final paycheck of more than $13,000."

So... after ripping off the taxpayers for millions, he's gonna wait to resign after he gets his last paycheck???

:wtf::banghead::wtf:

1. Well, it's hard to live on that six figure pittance, you know
Likely he'll make millions as a lobbyist after the first of the year.

Old crooks never leave, they just promise "access" for other old crooks.

2. Integrity to the last.
He needs some pocket cash not tied up in Halliburton stocks to buy ciggs and playboys, the new currency in his soon to be residence.

5. Whether He Resigns Or Not, Bet Ole Bob Is Singing Like a Canary...
.... You just know when the presecution lays out the case against you prior to sentencing and asks for 27 mos imprisonment, there is only one way to cut that prison time down ..... "sing your little heart out" about anyone and everyone you can think of. No time to consider loyalties.

Besides, Abramoff had the goods on everyone anyway. That is why Ney has to bring the prosecutors some "fresh meat" if he wants a more lenient sentence.

I would say Ralph Reed is about to take a dive, big time. He was one of the Abramoff email stars.

If Ney does not come up with something and soon, he is gonna need to take more than one toothbrush with him where he is going.

9. I see the logic in this - he admitted to being a criminal.
So why shouldn't he steal more money from American citizens? Not like the GOP tried to stop him or anyone else that commits a crime. Evidently, that is AOKAY in the Grand Old Party. To bad the 30% droolcup crowd won't see it that way. Rush will tell them what to believe.

13. Oh well you see the GOP decided to wait until November.
That is how organized crime works - give the guy his kickback and send him out the door. I wonder if he can serve his constituents from a jail cell?

14. If you were his lawyer and he owed you much, much moolah;
would you advise him to resign? Right now we are paying his lawyers. He won't resign until they kick him out. Hang in there, Bob. I want the stink to pile up real high right before Nov. 7th.
