Lynn Swann - Tweety Jr. Ticket in PA |
|
Who...what...where?
1. Swann spent about eleven minutes in SE PA. Lotsa Luck. If they thought that Tweety Jr. was going to carry the ball here, I dare one person in 10 in PA to be able to come up with his name.
2. No one, and I mean no one, mentions the governor's race as competitive. I mean NO ONE. I've never seen a state-wide race like this in my 50+ years. Even when Ridge ran for re-election, there was some buzz. Not here.
3. Even Tweety's stopped with disclaimers because it doesn't matter anymore.
4. Eddie's gonna drag Casey (who did remarkably well against Rickey in the debate last night) and several House Dems over the finish line. Once again, PA's going to set the tone for the US. Sen. Heinz' plane went down about a mile from my home and the ensuing adventure changed American politics at the time, when Thornburgh lost the Senate race which was, again, almost impossible to believe.
5. Watch PA on Election Night...if there are DEM sweeps down here in the SE corner, get ready for a great night.

2. I grew up there - Lynn Swann was my favorite Steeler. |
|
That was then though, and his ability as a football player is far removed from his politics. I will be waiting with excitement to see what happens in PA; my parents both switched parties this year (yea!!) and will be voting straight Democratic ticket. :applause:

3. He was my favorite Steeler too. |
|
He picked me up in a snowstorm and rode me almost all the way to my house. I knew who he was but I didn't say anything about it, and he didn't tell me his name. He asked me where I'm from and he told me about his wife.
He's a nice guy and he came through for me that day, but I will not vote for him. I'm disappointed by his politics, to say the least.
