Update on hospitalized Marine.
Some time back I posted here about the grandson of a friend of mine, a young Marine who had contracted a life-threatening illness while in the service, and was in a military hospital where he wasn't receiving adequate treatment. His parents were trying to get him moved to a private hospital, but had been told that in such a case, his medical coverage would not be valid. They were basically getting the runaround, and I'd asked for suggestions to pass along to the grandmother. A number of people posted with excellent advice, and several PMed me personally to offer help. I passed all this info along to my friend, who passed it along to the young man's parents.

Anyway, wanted to put out an update, and an encouraging one: the young man has been moved to the Mayo Clinic where he awaits a life-saving transplant. I don't know the details of how it was accomplished, but the advice and encouragement of posters here was surely a factor. Thanks so much to everyone who replied, and to everyone who was willing to help!
