I haven't checked for a few days and I think the last time I checked it was 2739.
I know that we have lost two here in Missouri.
But I have noticed that the media is really covering Iraq lately - all the stations. And even the KC Star is carrying coverage in big articles on the front page. I guess the war is finally getting important enough to make the front page.

a long segment about a week ago on the increase of violence (evening news)---yet did not mention increase in US dead troops.
I think it was abc (on of the evening news networks).

2. I really think all newspapers should have space on the front page |

everyday to update their readers on Iraq and Afghanistan. Both places are going right down the tubes. And they should have space for every soldier that dies over there - a picture and something about them.
This totally ignoring this war is just totally irresponsible.
