Under Investigation: R-Weldon, R-Romney, Who is Next?? Parade Continues...
Every day it seems there is another Republican being investigated for corruption.

To those who keep up with every detail, fill the rest of us in: Who can we expect to be the next Republican name to pop up in the Republican Corruption Investigation Parade???

4. He's on my list given the recent disclosures about non-profit manipulation
... I think the old adage is true "follow the money....." and you will find that Norquist was the King Money Launderer for Delay and Rove.

If the investigators crack the non-profits used by Repubs to 'wash' illegal campaign money, there will be a sonic boom coming out of D.C. The money leads to the real culprits. Foley will be an afterthought.

3. I hope Tom Feeney will be next
because I guess these idiots in his district will most likely return this freak to office - and you know maybe its just me but it kind of bothers me that a man who asked someone to write computer code to steal elections is my supposed representative in Congress -

6. Some Names Under The Gun...
Doolittle (how appropriate)
Pombo
Hunter
Bilbray
Harris (as in Katherine)

and that was without thinking too hard...Hurricane Abramoff is far from done ripping across the beltway...especially since Jack's still cooperating and as others cop their pleas even more names will be dragged through the slime.

It could be the only place to get a quorum call for the GOOP in a couple years will be at Club Fed...

9. I understand Bilbray is hard to find ...making no public appearances
I am baffled how a candidate this close to election could have a strategy of dropping out of public sight to avoid questions regarding scandal, and hope to win.

Mehlman reappeared today on CNN but Wolfie did not press him too hard, and you have to wonder if there were not some 'ground rules' Wolfie had to agree to in advance to get the interview with Mehlman.

What is the story with Hunter? I hear it will be big, but details are complex and not well understood by the public.

10. Mehlmann Looked Whipped
I thought Mehlmann came off as extremely defensive and at least Woolfie brought up the Abramoff connection...that's the first time he's been put under that microscope and he didn't handle it too well. He also had to play defense on Foley...and fumbled that as well (how many out here were wondering when he's going to be outted) and the overall poor poll ratings. Dean in his 15 minutes was on offense the entire time...he was on point and Woolfie was lobbing him softballs...Mehlmann did little attacking...even when he tried, Woolfie didn't let him get too far onto the talking points.

Sure, Woolfie could have slammed him harder about his Ralston connections and his "fixer" role, but that's something that I expect will come out over time...as is Kenny's role in the New Hampshire phone slamming games and other GOOP dirty tricks. He's already damaged goods and if the GOOP loses the House, his head is one of the first on the stick the next day. I was just glad to see this lying scumsucker neutralized this late in the campaign.

Hunter's up to his neck in the Mitchell Wade slush funds...the same one that trapped the Dukestir. They're snooping into Mr. Hunter's earmarks and special favors the Ways and Means committee did for MZB clients. He and the Dukestir worked closely...oh and ANOTHER to the above list...Jerry (hey laydeee) Lewis...(I forgot about that slimeball)...in throwing millions at fraudulent contrators.

I'll bet if the Democrats get subpoena power and Henry Waxman gets to really dig into this slime, we'll see even more Congresscritters who sold votes...especially in the billions squandered in Iraq. Oh...and another name that could get caught up in that mess...Ted "Bridge Down The Tubes" Stevens...the list just keeps growing.

TPMMuckraker has great coverage on all these scandals and a timeline for the major characters. There's so much there it's a problem of where to start.

And you're right, it is too complex for "the public"...it's intended to be that way. But when it's fleshed down to a simple indictment, then the story starts getting some legs...look at the Plame situation.

Cheers...

11. What About Ralph Reed? Golf trip/Email/ Money Launderer/Fraud?
I know he was ousted in the primary run for governor. However, is he not neck deep in moving Abramoff money, and defrauding Indian Tribes? Is he not a direct connect to Norquist?

He must feel there is a heavy hammer hanging over his head, right?
