Oh-Oh George, Future America Is Paying Attention!
My Daughter in college had to read an article and make a report on it. Just wanted to share it with you guys/gals. I wanted to add a few more reasons why the Repubs aren't looking so good, like Pedophile enablers, but she wouldn't let me. LOL.

Microeconomics

Article #2

This article is about how George W. Bush has said the economy is doing very well. He says there are rising domestic product, low unemployment rates, higher wages, record homeownership, and declining deficits. However, voters are becoming very unhappy about rising energy and health-care costs that wages that don’t keep up with inflation. In addition, the most recent statistics reveal slower growth, falling productivity, low home sales, and rising unemployment. Analysts are trying to comprise a new basket of stats that should include a family’s bottom line. They say the most important economic predictor is the voter’s subjective view of the future, where 67% of voters say the economy will get worse than its current condition. Due to these conditions, Republicans are not looking too good for future elections. So, to combat these problems, they will be focusing on immigration, flag burning, and same-sex marriage, and portray Democrats as advocates of “job-killing” tax hikes.

After reading this article, I was quite surprised by it. First of all, it seems as if George W. Bush is trying to cover up the fact that the economy isn’t doing as good as he had hoped. Second of all, if he is sugarcoating the facts about our economy, what else is he sugarcoating? Perhaps he is also covering up the real reasons for the war in Iraq, or the reasons why gas prices have skyrocketed in the past year. After reading an article like this, you really start to wonder about what other things he may be covering up. Also, it was interesting to me to see what the Republicans were going to try and focus their campaign on in the upcoming election. It seems as if they are going to try and avoid the real economic issues such as unemployment rates and inflation, and focus on other factors like immigration. This concerns me, because it seems like they are just brushing these factors off, and turning their attention to less important issues. Factors such as wages, inflation, and unemployment are things that us American citizens have to pay attention to in our everyday lives. They are things that affect our ways of living, and can alter our quality of life. They are not issues to just be avoided because there is no clear-cut solution to them. After reading this article, I have a little less faith in my government that they are doing all they can to provide for the American way of life.
