OK, what the hell is Oliver Stone doing... |
|
I was just reading up on his next movie, "Jawbreaker", which is based on a book critical of the Clinton efforts dealing with the Taliban in Afghanistan. Moreover, he has hired Cyrus Mowrasteh, the guy behind "Path to 9/11" to write the screenplay.
This seems weirdly out of character for Stone.
Oh yeah, cut and paste from imdb.com's studio briefs:
"Director Oliver Stone, an outspoken Hollywood liberal who has condemned the war in Iraq, has raised eyebrows by his choice of Cyrus Nowrasteh, a political conservative who wrote the controversial ABC miniseries The Path to 911, to write his next movie, Jawbreaker. The movie is to be based on a book by former CIA operative Gary Berntsen that is critical of efforts by the Clinton administration to end Taliban rule in Afghanistan and hunt down Osama bin Laden. Nowresteh, who last year participated in a panel at the Liberty Film Festival titled "Rebels With a Cause: How Conservatives Can Lead Hollywood's Next Paradigm Shift," has claimed that critics of The Path to 911 reacted with "hysteria" towards its depiction of a Clinton White House that avoided taking a firm approach to radicals in the Middle East."

1. I think he's getting tired of fighting the studio system |
|
Originality and controversy are frowned upon by the suits. Stone is now complacent and enjoys his tax cuts.

if he'd made a 9/11 conspiracy flick. Maybe he's lulling the bush freaks along until he drops the big bomb on them, and they can't accuse him so much of left wing liberal propaganda because of these two films he did first. I dunno. I hope he hasn't turned coats. He did indicate in Spain recently he might do a 'real' 9/11 film. it is weird though

4. Startling. Maybe it will draw about as many viewers as that crap |
|
abc movie. I commend Duers and all others who fought to debunk the bs presented in "Path". What a bizarre thing for Stone to do. The good thing is we know about it and will do what we always do: bombard every available public avenue to speak out for truth and contradict the lies.

..But not make any money on it, who would go see that crap?!.
This sounds like its "PT911" for the big screen, rehashing hash that will not be of any benfit to Nowresteh because by the time the movie comes out Bush will be Impeached, on trial and we will have a stable country again since Repuks will be the minority like they should be..
