The time has come: the radical right had better pack their gear! |
|
Time to say goodbye to civilian life and join up: The Limbaugh Chickenhawk fightin' 83rd Waterlogged needs YOU! From the military correspondent of the AP: WASHINGTON - The Iraqi government is going to have to take over its country's security "sooner rather than later," Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld said Friday, as the violence there continued to escalate. OOPS!!! If Rummy, Dick and Bush are planning to cut and run, then the terrrrists will be on our doorsteps in no time at all, as you've been telling us these past few years. If we don't stop them there, then if all this stuff you guys have been pasting on those right-wing boards is true (and of couse we know everything you paste comes right from God, and can't be anything but), then nothing more stands between our beloved homeland and the towel-headed murderous unshaven hordes except you brave defenders of the flag. If the libbrul socialists won't do it, and the Bushies won't either, then you finally will get the chance to put your gallant words into action. It's now up to you. We support your expeditionary mission, and will continue to support you from afar. May you kill as many terrrrists as possible before they get you.

But I know right-wingers who are totally honest to whatever deranged god they believe in in their believe that the movie "Red Dawn" is not only conceivably possible, but is in fact the likely outcome of any conflict in American soil. To further their derangement, they actively hope for a chance to prove themselves right about this theorum.

2. I have met similar characters, but: |

In my experience, these types stock their cellars with weaponry, practice with it every weekend, awaiting the chance to defend their homes and pickups from the invading hordes. They have no intention of volunteering to go fight abroad with our armed forces, but rather prefer to menace the enemy from their back yards. I'm sure Osama has less to fear from them than their neighbors.
It's a very safe belligerence. No matter what their rhetoric, even they know that the chance of their playing a role in a real life Red Dawn is zero at best.

with the laws being put in place to turn the USA into a bona fide police state, I do find myself contemplating the purchase of a weapon to take a few of them with me when they come to put me in a detention camp.
but, that's just day dreaming.
What ever happened to all those survivalist ruby ridge tim mcveigh types out there that wanted to take on an overly powerful government? Their time is at hand and they're invisible. Did the FBI infiltrate all of them?

Those militia and doomsday groups embrace this administration. You see it's not "the gub'ment" that they were up in arms against, it was Clinton and his administration. Where were these goons during the 80's? They were hoping Reagan would blow up Moscow.
