Senate map--check it out. |

They are counting Lieberman as a D. Look how the two "toss-ups" are trending. http://www.pollster.com/senate.php

1. Interesting but here is a nightmare scenario. |
|
Dems win Senate with Lieberman by 1 seat.
Rumsfeld resigns finnally
Bush boy plants another big kiss on Joe as he makes him Secretary of Defense.
Republican Gov appoints new Republican Senator from Ct.
Senate is now 50/50 with Darth Cheney as tie breaker.
IT could happen and once again ol Joe will be serving his most important constiuent HIMSELF. I hate that creep!

3. Im not sure Joe would accept |
|
If he becomes Sec of Defense, he has at most 2 years in that position. then what? If he stays in the Senate, he has at least 6, and possibly more.

4. nope. Suicide for Lieberman...obviously he wants a job |
|
so he won't give up a six year term for Sec. of Def. Remember, this idiot seems to really believe he is independent minded. If he wins, he probably figures he'll be viewed positively enough to win the presidency in 2012.

6. I know. I know... but can't you see it? |
|
He tries to pull some crazy Ross Perot thing? I picture him looking in the mirror thinking "I'm just like John McCain" (as if that is something to be proud of. I really think Lieberman, if asked late at night by a reporter, would probably say that he was once a prisoner of the North Vietnamese. He loves that McCain guy. I think he knows that since McCain is popular, and that they are basically the same guy, he could win an election.

7. I can live with a 50/50 Senate |
|
It means Cheney has to spend a bunch of time in the Senate chambers. With no clear majority, there is no clear majority leader, so my guess is there won't be any set schedule for votes, so he may be there a lot.
And the more time he spends there, the less time he can spend elsewhere in the shadows.
Just imagine all the procedural votes, votes to table, etc. coming up 50/50 and Cheney having to trek to the Senate to break the tie. I expect more than one mitral valve will blow before the two years are out.
