Something about this General Casey that doesn't instill confidence in me of |
|
his ability to command... Not that I'm an expert, but there is something about this guy, maybe it's his quirks, his speaking style, his asskissing demeanor that rubs me the wrong way. http://www.rawstory.com/news/2006/NY_Times_Commander_says_more_troops_1025.html

it's just Bush's way of always pointing to him as he "listen's" to him. I think he's there to do what Bush wants and to make sure Bush gets that. Greg Palast in his latest book "Armed Madhouse" talks about one general he appointed to help with Iraq and their government and the guy got there and was told not to unpack because he wasn't staying. So I think Bush is just using this guy to get what he wants. I've always felt iffy about him but never really thought much about it.

2. After reading Woodward's book, it's obvious many of the |
|
generals are lapdogs. They complained about being emasculated by Rumsfield, but continued to allow it to happen, never standing up to him.

3. The dumbing down of our military command is pretty much a` |
|
forgone conclusion, given that the responsible, trustworthy (in the patriotic sense) former members of that command have had to make the choice of staying in and being parties to the destruction of everything they have pledged their lives and those under their command to protect and giving up their careers in order to step away from the pitiful, pathological liars and have the freedom to attempt to make a difference.
THe physical destruction of our lives and country is taking an alarming shift closer to reality. I fear for this nation.
