Kossack Reports ABC News Picked Up Earpiece Transmissions to Bush Today
Edited on Wed Oct-25-06 01:09 PM by Dems Will Win

At today's Press Conference. Anybody TIVO it off ABC. We should really get some techies to figure out what frequency they are on so next conference it can be captured. The White House bought 2 Receive-A-Cue earpiece devices...

pacoyogi: I was watching his opening remarks while having breakfast at a diner....the ABC feed was picking up whoever was speaking to him on his earpiece. If anyone DVR'd it off of ABC, it might be interesting to post.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/10/25/13328/212#c2

I'll say it would be interesting.

You techies out there, as was screamed at Dan Rather once: "What is the Frequency?"

Please RECOMMEND

15. because he's dyslexic and also because he is only pretending that
these are his thoughts. You can't read a teleprompter to respond to a question from a reporter. It's not a speech. Just like he couldn't use one in the debates. It's all an illusion that he has the slightest clue. I would love a reporter jamming the frequency. That would be a delight!

That someone would carry in a short-range JAMMER,
and he'd be left all alone in front of the cameras,
being asked questions without the voice in his ear
to give him any answers.

That would indeed be a DELIGHT!

that's what happened during the first debate in 2004. Otherwise, how could he possibly have ended up doing so badly? I can't believe that Rove and the others would have sent him there so unprepared.

38. A while back I caught him mishearing what they were feeding him.
He used a word completely out of context, and it was very clear what was going on because he had to backtrack to make it appear that he simply misspoke. But the backtrack only made it more obvious that he was being fed answers.

I started a thread about this some time ago, but I can't find it.

101. In the instance I'm talking about the word he used was completely
out of context. It wasn't that the misused the word, it's that he used a word that only made sense if he misheard what they were saying. I wish I could remember the word.

I can't do searches, but if somebody searches "earpiece" or "ear piece" and "BuyingThyme" it's probably in the old database.

that it was audio that was out of sync with audio/video...

I don't know why it happened - maybe an audio was being 'sent' to radio stations at the same time (but just a split second before) both audio & video were being sent to TV stations.

That is my impression of what happened.

I'd be happy to learn otherwise - if someone has scientific evidence of a difference in vocal tone or pronunciation between Voice 1 and Voice 2...

(Edit: Clarify what I meant by 'evidence'...)

26. Demand The Truth From ABC
This could be a major breakthrough in proving Bush has been wired throughout all his debates and many press conferences.

We should flood ABC (and all the networks and journalists) with demands that they investigate and reveal the details of Bush being fed answers by wireless connection.

This might be best done thorugh www.congress.org's "media" links which allows you to contact all the media within a 100 miles of a designated zip code and draft letters to them for sending through Congress.org.

Send to your local media by inputting your zip code, save your letter, and then send to media surrounding White House (get zip for D.C. from www.usps.com) and a New York City zip code (1001). If you save your original letter (via "Edit", "Save"), you can keep re-inserting your original letter. Congress.org allows you to send letters to 5 different media sources at a time. By obtaining zip codes from various cities throughout the country you can send letters to the editor to hundreds of local newspapers.

I really did. The only station I could get was ABC because the transmitters for the other stations were on top of the WTC and I didn't have cable. Bush gave a speech from the WH that night when he stopped bunnyhopping. I could hear the feed for about a minute or so. It seemed like an audio glitch but it was definitely a different voice.

Bush saying "let me finish" in the debate. No one was talking to him and his green light was still on. It was unbelievable. What a joke the press is. NYT actually said they had the story but decided to not run it because it was too close to election time. What a crock.

69. I'm watching it now. he does switch between "official" sounding
answers and his own "Shoot from the hip" BS.

When he's listening, he keeps stopping every few words. And then the answer he give has no emotion in it. It's like he's reading a menu.

Then, when he picks up the pace, it's obvious he's no longer listening, and expressing himself directly. And the answers get quite 5th grade. He starts using slang and gets defensive.

It sure does look like he's negotiating a feed as well as the reporters.

73. NYT, also Woodward had it & killed it. F.A.I.R. expose' in 2004.
Nelson was the Jet Propulsion Lab scientist who analyzed the debate photos.

Some of the MSM seemed to find him and his investigation quite credible, then chickened out---- "too close to the election"

That's a lot of power The Fourth Estate holds over us and the free world. Could they have changed history?

“A lot of hoops”

While the New York Times seems to have been the only newspaper to write an investigative story on the Bush bulge and then kill it, it was not the only paper to duck the story about the bulge and its dramatic confirmation and delineation by Nelson. In addition to the L. A. Times and the two local papers that showed no interest, Nelson says that the same day he learned that his story had been killed at the Times, October 28, he received a phone call from Washington Post assistant managing editor Bob Woodward, famous for his investigative reports on Watergate. "Woodward said he’d heard the Times had killed the story and asked me if I could send the photos to him," says Nelson.

The JPL scientist did so immediately, via email, noting that he had also been in touch with Salon magazine. He says Woodward then sent his photographs over to a photo analyst at the paper to check them for authenticity, which Nelson says was confirmed.

A day later, realizing time was getting short, Nelson called Woodward back. Recalls Nelson: "He told me, 'Look, I’m going to have to go through a lot of hoops to get this story published. You’re already talking to Salon. Why don’t you work with them?'" (Several emails to Woodward asking him about Nelson's account have gone unanswered.)

At that point Nelson, despairing of getting the pictures in a major publication, went with the online magazine Salon. This reporter subsequently asked Nelson to do a similar photo analysis of digital images of Bush’s back taken from the tapes of the second and third presidential debates. The resulting photos, which also clearly show the cueing device and magnetic loop harness under his jacket on both occasions, were posted, together with Nelson’s images from the first debate, on the news website of Mother Jones magazine (10/30/04).

Quite the read: January/February 2005

The Emperor's New Hump
The New York Times killed a story that could have changed the election—because it could have changed the election

77. Now, What could we feed to Bush's Earpiece?
Yeah, I know the SS would grab me and I'd spend the rest of Bush's reign in Gitmo; but, I can dream. So what could we feed into that earpiece? MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

How about:

  • White noise at the threshold of pain (Bush crumples or starts swearing!)
  • George Carlin's Seven Words You Can't Say on TV routine
  • The soundtrack to Michael Jackson's Thriller (imagine Bush Moonwalking!)
  • "I'm going to play this town like a harp from hell!" (Danny DeVito from Batman II)
  • For country fans: "You Ain't Woman Enough to Take my Man!" (Jeff Gannon & Prince Bandar will love this one!)

More nominations?

89. Remember Steve Carell in "Bruce Almighty"?
When Jim Carrey is jealous that Carell got chosen as anchorman over him, he uses his "God power" to make Carell babble incoherently during the newscast. It would be great to see that happen with *.

Of course, no one would know if * was babbling because he was being fed garbage or because he didn't have the earpiece in.

Another trick is to feed the speaker's voice back to him with a one second delay. It is virtually impossible to continue talking when that happens.

83. Here's the amazing thing: even with someone feeding him
responses, the Pretzeldent comes off as a moran who cannot string together a coherent thought or a complete sentence. Whoa! Something gets lost between the thinker who is transmitting, and W who is ostensibly receiving. This should be the final closing chapter of Bushie's little escapade. Before the impeachment and war criminal trials, of course.

88. Two of us listened to our Tivo's ABC TV raw audio of the press conference
several times using all Sony gear (Tivo, TV and headphones) at full TV volume. Background noise on the audio track was very loud. One of us (the one with bad hearing) could hear nothing between the participants' speech. The other (the one with better hearing) could hear slight "whispering" sounds just above the noise that sometimes mimicked the cadence or rhythm of the phrases Bush next spoke. However, these sounds were not understandable as English words or phrases, and it wasn't clear if they were coming from the podium area or from members of the audience.

We didn't have time to re-record or apply noise reduction or EQ to the audio track, and didn't check the SAP, so we saved the program on Tivo to experiment with over the weekend.
