James Carville on Al Gore in '08: "Of course he's going to run. Of course he is"
http://msnbc.msn.com/id/15362377/site/newsweek/page/2/

Looking ahead, what should we expect in the 2008 presidential election?
This is the first time since 1952 that we haven't had either an incumbent president or vice president running. And in '52, it was a fait accompli—as the French would say—with Gen. Dwight Eisenhower. So this is an unbelievably rare occurrence. This is also the first time since 1940 that we don't know who the Republican nominee is going to be. So there has never been suspense in the Republican nominating process to the extent that you have this time. On the Democrat side, of course, you have Hillary Clinton. But there will be seven major Democrats running for president. Al Gore's going to run.

Gore's going to run?
Of course he's going to run. Of course he is.

5. I don't want another 49.9 to 50.1% election.
WHy is Gore so much more compelling to the average American than before?

7. Gore is a changed man. After all he went through he has
been enlightened. He knows way more now than he did then and I beleive he is not afraid to tell it like it is anymore.

6. it's going to be wild and crazy
my prediction is EVERYONE is going to run. They've got really nothing to lose. 2008 is an open election with no incumbent. It happens maybe once in a political career, if you are lucky enough.

Hillary, Gore, Obama, Kerry, Edwards, Clark, Biden, Feingold

2. Sometimes I don't follow Carville.
He thinks it was that settled on Republican nominees ahead of time? Come on.

8. Carvile and Begala....why are they getting so much face time?
Carville according to Woodward's book possibly undermined Kerry after the election.

Begala put the DNC down by saying Dean was hiring people to pick their noses in Utah? and Nevada. Insulting.

And BOTH of them were intrumental bigtime in getting Howard Dean labeled as crazy. They went after others as well, I just haven't saved those transcripts. They were awful.

Why are they so credible? I have wonder.

11. I said after.
I don't have the quote from the book readily available, but a search on Carville, Woodward, Kerry, or similar will get the results.

After.

10. the 2008 election will be the wildest one EVER
There will never be a presidential election like the one we're about to embark on in 13 days. It will be hyped up beyond belief and for once, the hype will be justified.

In our lifetimes, it is possible we will never see another election like this one. It will make 2000 and 2004 look like a small town school board election.
