4. Wasn't that the name of the dog that Atticus Finch shot in Mockingbird? |
|
 It was a rabid dog and only Atticus was a good enough shot to bring him down without hitting a civilian.

6. When is he up for election? |
|
Is there anyone from SD who can challenge him in his next primaries?
I believe all these fair weather Democrats must be replaced if the party is again to offer valid opposition and, when the fascist administration is thrown in jail, honorable leadership.

9. Then I hope South Dakotans will remember this vote. |
|
In two years time, I think it will be abundantly clear what, exactly, the esteemed gentleman from South Dakota is so willing to give up, and South Dakotans will know how to act.

13. So, it's NOT his fear of a right-wing backlash in a 2006 election, huh? |
|
The claim I often see on DU regarding 'Democrats' in 'red' states holds only a little bit of water, in my opinion, during the election cycle in which they're up for reelection. Outside of that, I think it's hogwash to claim they're "bending" to the will of their right-wing electorate.

It's really hard to believe. I think it's a bad excuse.

8. My letter to Sen. Johnson, (D- SD) |
|
Dear Senator Johnson,
I was deeply saddened to see you will be voting for USSC nominee Alito.
I believe we will all live to regret it.
The President (who stole Florida and the country in 2000) is an illegitimate and corrupt leader.
To vote for his nominee (who you say you find "deeply troubling") is very poor judgment on your part. Your rational for this action makes no sense. Perhaps you see it as your ticket to re-election, but I can't see how.
I find it deeply troubling that you believe strip searching a ten year old girl without a warrant or probable cause to be "mainstream thought."
If our fellow Democrats in the Senate attempt a filibuster will you vote against us, and vote for cloture?
If you do, I will be teaching my three young children your name. I will teach them that Sen. Tim Johnson is the man who sold out his party, his country, and that Senator Tim Johnson is the man who sold out their civil rights.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
xxx xxx xxxx, MT

12. I Bet GOPers Called His Office Pretending to be Dems |
|
I heard one on Ed's radio show yesterday agreeing with his stance on filibustering. It was pretty obvious to that the caller was not a Dem, but a GOP piece of shit parroting all the RNC talking points.

14. The GOP has been using 'false flag' tactics for nearly 25 years. |
|
While there have ALWAYS been political turncoats, the GOP has been astroturfing such tactics wholesale including poll-busting tactics increasingly for the last 25 years, at no time more so than in the last 5-10 years. (Remember Cynthia McKinney?)
