|
Harry Belafonte and Arianna Huffington should be flawless. Ford will be fun, and Sullivan and Christie Whitman should be easy targets...

I used to be such a fan of H. Ford, but he has really turned into a Republican. He supported the recent "torture/deaht of habeous corpus" bill as well as the bankruptcy bill.

and said all the right things...to get elected sen from TN rather than to endear him to the DU troops, that is.

30. I think that plays in to the ad makers strategy. |
|
They get extended free play. How many people stick around for the analysis? How many just hear the message of the ad driven in to their subconscious? The constant coverage was the key to success of the swiftboating.

34. Yes, it was the sucess of the swiftboating, but-in the case of the Michael J Fox |
|
ad and the Limbaugh response, this plays to our favor. The more coverage, the better. Limbaugh, totally unintentionally, has given us the greatest gift imagineable.

33. Woohoo! Andrew Sullivan based the Republicans for being |
|
cowards! I am SO glad to hear someone say that! Yes, the Dems in many cases have played the chicken-shit game, but SO HAVE THE REPUBLICANS. When they could have stood up to Bush and said, NO! to him, they didn't. They are just as cowardly as a lot of the Dems.
And, having said that about Dems, I will also add the caveat that the Dems ARE in the minority right now, but so often, when they have had a chance to speak up, speak out, they haven't done it.
But I'm glad that Sullivan called out the Republicans. About freakin' time!

|
I know he's been mellowing around the edges lately, but I've never applauded him so much in one sitting. He used to put my TV in danger of thrown objects. Wow.
And I must add that this was a really great panel (including the guests) of RATIONAL people that can discuss and debate issues to discover common ground.
