What Is The "Homosexual Agenda" To You?
The Republicans are heading into the homestretch in this election, dredging up the dreaded "Homosexual Agenda" as their bogeyman of last resort.

The problem is, the GOP is never really specific about just what the supposed "homosexual agenda" really is. What are they actually talking about?

Are hordes of gay men and lesbians gearing up to take over Congress if Democrats win and pass legislation forbidding heterosexuality?

Well.... no, that's absurd.

Are gay men and lesbians poised to enact statutes mandating that the rainbow flag be flown next to Old Glory atop the Capitol?

Well, no... that too is ridiculous.

Are gays and lesbians secretly plotting to pass laws preventing conservative Christians from joining and serving in the armed forces of our great land?

Ummm.... nope.

The truth is that to the extent that the "Homosexual Agenda" really exists, it is part of a larger, historical, quite mainstream trend in American life. If is about equal access to all that America has to offer its citizens.

It is about equal rights under the law for a group that pays equal taxes to the government.

It's really that simple.

America is a work in progress and has serially extended, over its young life, the mantle of full citizenhood to previously disenfranchised groups after long political battles and, sometimes, bloody wars.

The movement for gay equality is just the normal, albeit slow and fitful, progression of American society and American history.

The dirty, little secret that the Republicans don't want people to find out is that the "homosexual agenda" is really, at heart, the "American Agenda."

8. As a gay guy......
I have absolutely no idea what the supposed Homosexual Agenda is.....apparently I never got the memo.

My personal "homosexual agenda" however, is to be able to work, maintain my house, plan for my retirement, be active in my community, continue my volunteer work, and go to sleep at night without worrying if North Korea is going to launch a nuke at Seattle. Pretty boring stuff I know. Well, welcome to my homosexual world.

76. My deep fear is ...
Edited on Sat Oct-28-06 10:52 PM by Mme. Defarge
that our current administration, that must loathe my city, which they they refer to it as "little Beirut" because every time a member of the Bush family comes to town we tend to take to the streets in protest, will nuke us and blame N.K. I expressed this concern to a co-worker before the '04 election.

I also predicted, after the '00 election was stolen, but before Bush was inaugurated, that there would be an event soon after his installation as President that would lead to a curtailment to our civil liberties and marial law. I hate it when that happens!

12. Gay rights are my rights
My right to live with my girlfriend without getting married, for instance--exactly the same as gay people's right to marry.

It's about the government not telling us how to live.

In fact, gay rights are the same as the right of fundamentalist Christians to engage in their marital practices.

16. Come on, Ruggerson! You were at the meeting. You know the agenda.
Stop playing coy.

1) All businessmen must wear tight-fitting sequined dresses in order to undercut their authority thus allowing us to infiltrate and establish a communist dictatorship.
2) All straights forced at gunpoint to wear genderbending clothes so that they are no longer attractive to one another, hence the end of reproduction and the human life.
3) Turning all children into brain-washed gay lizard aliens. Bwahahahaha and all that.
4) Forcing the American people to worship our dark overlord, Satan. They must renounce their love for jeezis at gunpoint.
5) All churches must be turned into gay bars by 2010.

You know the agenda! Come on!

Can I really be a dyke
All leather-clad, but with no bike?

Can butches still be butch, and cooks?
(I'm torn betwixt fast cars and books.)

I'll chop the wood and stoke the fire
But leave my wife to change the tire.

I still avoid chick flicks, although
My drink of choice is red merlot.

I freely use words like "adore"
But not re sports, which I abhor.

Yes, musicals I quite enjoy.
(Am I a gay girl, or gay boy?)

And now I wear my hair down long
While Wifey misses my lost shlong.*

* Anyone who has to ask what a "shlong" (not "schlong") is, is definitely not a lesbian.

36. that adgenda is 'why i should care.'
slickly wrapped, organic with the right reasons,
something i don't care about at all, god help 'em,
its an identity politic, but do i really have to care,
and can't we just call it 'equality' and not somebody's rights.

...and their true feelings about us GLBT Americans.

Then they should examine their commitment to things like fairness, justice, equality, cooperation, and all the things liberalism is known for.

If they don't understand you, they're lacking in something and should identify and rectify it, quickly.

41. The agenda: making us all shop at "Bed Bath & Beyond."
As opposed to the Republican Agenda, which is to have us all shop (and work) at Wal-Mart.

42. Gays became the new communists. We're the fear focus group de jour
we get trotted out just about every election cycle by hypocritical bigots. It's a testimony to how scared they are by having to play the "FAG" card when the rethuglicans are awash in morales scandals, especially those gay-tinged.

A. Bitch about the IRS when filling out tax returns

B. Procrastinate on household chores in favor watching a football game

C. Have pizza with friends after seeing a midnight movie

So, basically, exactly what strait people have gotten out of life, and the right not to be harassed while doing so.

52. If people are more concerned about MY/OUR...
...behind closed doors affairs rather then a corrupt, warmongering criminal that they planted on the hill; Then the dellusional have truely gone off the cliff. When my private life has become a concern for the sexually deprived and the wrong doings of their president goes unattested then something is really fucked with those people.

There is NO Homosexual Agenda, resistence to theocractic wack-jobs is not an agenda but a neccasary stance againsts rediculous superstitions and ideologies. Those who follow the 'invisiable Friend' religion(s) and beat people over the head with stupid dogmas suffer from a massive delusion and should be treated with shock therapy and or waterboarding.

If stating that we demand EQUAL recognition on all grounds is an agenda, then yes, we have an agenda. 'Believers' or 'Fundamentalist' have it in their peabrains that they are superior and those who do not believe or any other minoities for that matter, are sub-human. The Gay community is only stead fast against these superfical asshats who really have the AGENDA, to turn this counrty into a Christian(vomit) community. American, the next Iran, would be no better then any other Theocracy in existance, constitutional America is in the balance and if we dont take over Congress and the Senate we are FUCKED!

Unlike Christian extremist, which is the same as Islamic, muslim or any other Fundamentalist insanity, The 'liberal' community does not want to irradicate religion (I on the other hand strongly suggest it) but the Nazi mentality of the Falwells, Dobsons, Hagees and Robertsons however would march all of us Gay, Atheist, Humanist and others they deem as 'Heathens' to the gas chamber. Just look at the ETERNAL FORCES, it says alot about the xtian extremist agenda....

Good night and Good Luck.

In America as defined by the the LAW OF THE LAND.

In other words, to be just like everyone else who enjoys the blessings of this country.

71. Someone beat me to it already
but my homosexual agenda basically involves translating and tutoring in Greek and Latin, writing papers, taking exams, and occasionally having time to cook and eat a meal with my fiance, who also works and goes to school full time.

I've long said that we are all our own best ambassadors. Being open without being strident and living peaceably and productively in the world is the only way we can make fears and prejudices dissolve. Knowledge conquers hate. It's a slow process, but the only one that can work.

distract and misdirect from high crimes and misdemeanors

corruption

perverted murderers

torturers

lies for war

war for looting the treasury, and to make oil scarce which raises the price

violating the constitution

breaking countless laws

letting 9-11 happen

lying about it

blocking justice

blocking investigation, interfering

war crimes, domestic and international

illegal spying

ad infinitum...

CIVIL RIGHTS FOR GAYS IS HUGE, and these crimes are even more immense as issues go.
we'll not be able to move on civil rights until we vote them out, clean up voting, get $$$ out of politics, get some media outlet, and elect REAL Democrats that will let us have an opposition to corporatists who use Xtians like tools.
