3. I've read Neal Walsch's series "Conversations With God"
and one of the key points in his first volume was that are two basic emotions of mankind,
LOVE and FEAR. All else flows from one or the other.
From LOVE comes benevolence, compassion, empathy, warmth, trust, all positive emotions and energy.
From FEAR one gets Hate, mistrust, anger, intolerance, malevolence, coldness, and all other NEGATIVE emotions.

So, as to the WillyT's question, I would consider Fear to be the characterization applied to the Repugs.

Not to proselytize, as I am much more of an agnostic than a "true" Christian, but I think the Christian message of love and caring was given to us to promote this Positive energy and to help us overcome the Negativity of the world.

(Not trying to hijack the thread, but just got a case of happy fingers on my keyboard.)

7. Amen to that Brother
All we can do now is try to keep the positive energy going, spreading it wherever we go.

And no, I don't mean go out and witness to everyone, (which I consider just empty bullshit these days), but to try and live our lives as an example.

Walkin the Walk beats Talkin the Talk every time.

Religion is much more of a Divider than it is a Uniter. I am much more impressed with Buddhism than I am with Christianity (at least the brand of "Christianity" being shoved down our throats by the current "owners" of the term.)

6. Hate half my family !!!!
No way.............I find them misguided, uninformed and doing themselves a great deal of harm by voting repug.
A true tree hugger librul does not hate. We would love to have everyone more like us, but are grounded in reality and know this will never happen. We just keep hoping for good and honest leaders, no matter what party.

8. Hate is not too strong a term for what Republican voters feel about America,
Edited on Sat Oct-28-06 03:22 PM by indepat
the American experiment with freedom and liberty, equal justice under the law, the promote the general welfare doctrine, and all other founding doctrines: abhor everything America has stood for might be more accurate for those Amurikkkans who despise the home of the free and land of the brave and eat up the new fascist totalitarian theocratic Amurikkkan police state.

13. All Republicans AND Democrats
who have stood by idly, looked the other way, or actively aided the regime in power with its war in Iraq and with its destruction of our Constitutional rights in the USA deserve our scorn and hatred.

17. I don't hate them, I am just saddened by people's ignorance.

The people we should be hating are the corporate elites who conspire to keep the people ignorant, not the average voter.

18. I don't hate my Republican coworker who is voting for Deval Patrick
The Democratic governor candidate. I also appreciate his vote for Marty Meehan (D) from Mass.

I do hate RWers though. Narrow minded racist bigot RWers. They choose to hate and I choose to not overlook their hate anymore - it's affecting me now.

20. Hate? Republicans?
I don't hate Republicans, I hate their philosophy of life. I hate the way they treat people. I hate the sanctimonious way they view the world. I hate the ideas they have for America. I hate what they have done to my country. I hate the things I believe they have planned for our country. I hate that my son will be paying off our debts because of them. I hate thay any grandchildren I may have some day will be paying for Republican spending. I hate the wars they start. I hate the death that ensues. I hate the way they try to push religion into the mix (then laugh at the Evangelicals for being gullible enough to support them) I hate how Republicans have taken the notion of "conservative" and made it into something not conservative and yet those who proclaim to be conservative don't seem to notice. I hate the fact that Republicans would probably still cheer Bush if he were to eat a child on TV. I hate a lot of things about Republicans.

Do I hate Republicans? On a case by case basis, I might hate individual Republicans, but mostly I think that the majority of people who vote Republican are just scared, gullible people. I hate what Republicans have done in the name of God and country to scare people.

... and their neighbor.

Other than that, every republican voter deserves EVERY result of the government they voted for.
