Who here has already voted early in the election? Who'd you vote for? |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-28-06 11:40 PM by Grebrook
Simple question, simple answers. Feel free to share.
Also feel free to share if you did or didn't vote in 2004. Finding people who are voting now who didn't vote in the last Congressional Election is always reassuring.
Also please mention if you're voting against a Republican incumbent, just so we know if you're in a Dem district or Rep district.
I didn't vote early (I don't think NJ has early voting), but on election day I will be voting:
(D) Bob Menendez for Senate (D) Viola Thomas-Hughes for House, against incumbent (R) Frank LoBiondo Straight (D) on all other local races

I voted for Governor Ted Kulongoski. I voted against every state ballot initiative except the one providing prescription drug coverage under the the Oregon Health Plan to all who otherwise lack it. I voted for most county ballot measures (support schools, libraries, parks, etc.) Voted for certain judges. Voted for excellent local and state officials (thank you!).

Straight Democratic ticket. A couple of local races don't have any D's so I just wrote in Democratic friends of mine.
Governor: John Baldacci Congressman: Tom Allen US Senator: Jean Hay Bright State Senator: Art Mayo State Rep: Carol Grose
and No on Grover Norquist's Taxpayer Bill of Goods.

I live outside of Las Vegas. Voted straight Democratic ticket for the first time in my life. Titus for Governor, Carter for Senate. Didn't recognise the name for our rep as this is a new district (used to be Porter - total rubber stamp for Junior), so I'm sure it's been gerry-mandered to be republican. Unfortunately, as loose as "sin city" is, that's how tight-assed the rural areas are. Although, I've got to admit, even out here, Junior's popularity has taken a big hit.

Texas. Straight Democratic ticket including Chris Bell for governor (Hey! We're not all stupid enough to think Kinky Friedman is a realistic candidate.), Barbara Radnofsky for the Senate and Jim Henley for the House. I voted for Kerry in 2004 and Gore in 2000. And yes, the incumbents are ReThuglicans. This is Houston; not a part of the civilized world for God's sake!

Straight Democratic ticket from southern NH. We'll keep our Democratic governor, but it doesn't look like we have much chance of giving Bradley the boot. Bass is looking vulnerable up north though. Neither of our senate seats are up for election this cycle so we're stuck with Gregg until 2010 and Sunumb-numb until 2008.

25. Well, I'll probably get flamed over this but I didn't vote for or |
|
against my Dem congressman, Daniel W. Lipinski, IL 03 on Friday.
I left that vote completely blank this time around.
Sorry everyone, but I've held my nose and voted for all the Dems in every Presidential and mid-term election since 1972, but I just couldn't do it this time around. "Danny Boy" is a just too "piss poor" of an excuse for a Democrat.
Don't worry, he'll win re-election in a walk, so I won't be jeopardizing anyone's Committee Chairmanship. Dan Lipinski is totally controlled by his father, the former Congressman and the Cook County Democratic Organization. He'll do exactly what he's told to do by Rich Daley, Mike Madigan, etc., and the rest of that bunch.
I also didn't vote for either candidate for President of the Cook County Board of Commissioners. Both Todd Stroger (D) and Tony Peraica (R), IMHO, are complete assclowns and don't deserve a vote from anyone.
Flame away....

Ted Kulongoski, the D incumbent, for governor. x(
Carol Voisin, the D challenging the R incumbent, for the House.
Bill Smith, D challenging R incumbent for my state House
Virginia Linder, non-partisan for Judge of the Supreme Court
All but the first were candidates I believed to be the best offered for the position. For governor, I'm not really a fan of Kulongoski and probably could have found an independent or 3rd party candidate I liked better, but the R challenger, Saxton, is a horror, so my vote stands as a vote AGAINST him. If Saxton weren't polling well, I would have looked elsewhere.
