Michael J. Fox looked worse during his interview with Katie Couric...
...than during the commercial for Claire McCaskill.

That undermines the idea that the commercial exaggerates his situation:

1. Day by Day the meds act funny
Not being funny here you shake some days worse then others. Look at Lane Evans he was fine for years now his shaking has cause him to step down from Congress. Bush and boys need to go

3. Ah he is just faking it
I know cause I watched my dad fake it for almost 20 years. Some days he shook and other days he was just fine. Then Dad supposedly died from Parkinson's. I bet he faked that too.

:sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

4. His Parkinson's may be so advanced
that the meds that stop the uncontrollable stiffness and shaking cause general ataxia. That can certainly happen.

Eventually he'll get to the point that the meds won't work any more.

This is incredibly sad.

A great article on the whole flap is at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/27/AR2006102701475.html

"I have another friend. He has Parkinson's. I've seen him on good days and bad days. That's how I know Fox isn't faking. My friend doesn't see the destruction of embryos as a dangerous price to pay for stem cell research. I do. But if you worry about the embryos, you had bloody well better look into the eyes of the people dying of these diseases. You had better ask yourself whether slowing research that might save them is an acceptable price for your principles.

"If you can't -- if all you can see is "acting" -- then you need more help than they do. Fox's disease can only take your body. Limbaugh's can take your soul."

8. Just to make things clear
They are not using embryos for stem cell research, but blastocysts. Blastocysts only become embryos after they attach themselves to the uterine wall.

5. I feel bad that we feel the need to justify his horrible illness
If you've ever known anybody with this disease, you'd know how utterly maddening it can be. :(

7. People who question his illness do not deserve
to be in the human race.
