DO NOT CONFIRM YOUR VOTE FOR A GOP CANDIDATE |
|
Edited on Mon Oct-30-06 12:07 PM by Tiggeroshii
This may need repeating, depending on what you guys think, but here's the thing:
Early voting is showing that a substantial amount of machines are showing your confirmation to be for a GOP candidate rather than for the Democrat(or other) candidate you selected instead. My guess would be that if you end up confirming your vote for a GOP candidate, that GOP candidate will officially get your vote. So do not confirm your vote for a GOP candidate.
Either try your vote a different machine that WILL confirm your vote for a Democrat, or vote using a provisional ballot(easy to do in California, don't know about other states) or paper ballot -do this also if you simply don't trust the accuracy or dependability of the machines. It's also imperative that we take these cases not only up to the press but also to the secretary of states' office whose jobs it is to oversee such problems. We cannot just put up with this idiocy when we've known for so long it's been going on. We must speak up, and make sure our votes are counted.

1. I like mopinko's suggestion also: |
|
"When this happens- tell the election worker they face felony charges if the sign off on a count from a machine that is failing to properly count votes. and you will sign a complaint. write down the serial number of any such machine, as well as the number of the seal/s. we have to get serious about this. these citizen judges/or poor grunt clerks are going along with this shit, signing these bogus counts." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Only other thing I can think of is to photograph your vote.

4. Isn't it illegal to operate a cell phone at a polling place, |
|

7. Our machines are right out in the open. |
|
There is no closed off booth. The machine stands with it's back to a wall so no one can see around you but they will see a phone if I use it, or a camera.

10. Someone would know as soon as you showed him the picture you took. |
|
But if it's not illegal to use a cell in a polling station in the States, then the point is moot. I just know that, in my capacity as a poll official, I've given warnings and had to eject scrutineers of all major parties at one time or another for using cellphones inside.

If this is really happening then people need to get pictures and post them on the Internet. Who cares if it's 'legal'. The machines are illegal and we are trying to expose fraud.
