GOP apologist Michael Barone: Indies might not vote--helps GOP! |
|
Michael Barone of US News and World Report and usually someone you can trust to give the GOP point of view thinks that Independent voters may sit out this election which, you guessed it, would help the GOP, since Indies are polling heavily against Bush and the war. He goes on to say that the GOP's much bally-hooed 72-hour GOTV drive could also help the GOP and that Tuesday might not be as bad as the polls currently reflect.
I don't know why Indies wouldn't vote. As a matter of fact I think independent voters are more likely to vote than any other voting group. By and large they are college grads, middle-upper income and suburbanites.
I think Barone is whistling past the graveyard, but we gotta all work to gotv nevertheless!
