Just got this from Andy's partner, Ted:

"Looks like Andy has hit the 'Big Time!' Andy was in a 30 minute documentary released in 2004 titled "Votergate." But now in time for the elections the film makers (Russ & Rob) have used additional footage to make an updated full length documentary feature titled "Hacking Democracy" and dedicated the film to Andy. It will be released on HBO this coming Thursday, Nov. 2nd. Additional showing will air. Hope you all get a chance to see it! Russ tells me there is footage of Andy in it I haven't seen. I'm on pins and needles! LOL, Ted"

I think it's terrific that it's dedicated to Andy. Please make sure folks know that it is dedicated to Andy so it won't necessarily turn into a bashing of "the unnamed you-know-who."

know it was dedicated to Andy. I posted something last week about it, but people who commented were less than enthusiastic because the review mentioned that Bev was featured in it.

Thanks for posting this, Will. Maybe now that people know it's dedicated to Andy there will be a better response. I think it's an important documentary, Bev or no Bev.

Can you please provide a little more background on this project and story line?

I must say the hacker metaphor immediately raises the fur on my neck. That is like saying, Enron proves that is it possible for hackers to sneak into a great, successful, well-managed, highly ethical, multi-billion dollar American corporation and sneak away with loads of booty.

No, it didn't happen that way. Enron was an inside job. And the clear and present threat to our elections is not from hackers, although that seems to be the only story line that anybody in the media is willing to run. The threat is clearly from the inside, not the outside.

I hope that this project is using the hacker metaphor only to attract interest, and then gets to the real issues.
