Empty seats greet Bush in rural Georgia

Tuesday, October 31, 2006 / 03:42 PM

President George W. Bush on Tuesday spent a second day in a row campaigning in rural Georgia, targeting a shrinking slice of America where Republicans think he still can help their cause in next week's elections.

Bush is spending the final days of the campaign in small town venues, where White House officials hope he can inspire people to vote Republican on Nov. 7.

Bush didn't fill the arena at the Georgia National Fairgrounds -- plenty of seats were empty in the back, along with nearly half of the vast floor space. But those who came out for the rally were enthusiastic, applauding his calls for tax cuts and against same-sex marriage.

"We don't want Washington Democrats running the House of Representatives," Bush said from a stage decorated with hay bales, pumpkins and a billboard-size American flag.

"Ms. Pelosi, we don't agree with your San Francisco West Coast ideas and values," Collins cried in a loud Southern drawl.

Bush had come to Georgia on Monday as well and delivered a similar speech . . .

9. haybales, bumpkins and a billboard sized American flag?
makes sense to me, those bumpkins need something to sit on, it's hard work.

The thing that pisses me off, there's no pretense of the dimson doing anything but campaigning, no book signings (yeah, I know), no anything at all but campaigning.

7. Empty seats to see a guy with an empty head..........
that's fitting. "Washington Democrats running the House of Representatives"? :wtf: What a fucking dunce. So I guess the House, Senate, Supreme Court and everything else is now controlled by, "Washington Republicans"?

This guy is too stupid to be a night manager at a car wash, he really is. And he's PRESIDENT of the United States? Apparently 35%, or so, of Americans don't think he's too stupid to be President. Now what the hell does that say about THEM? :eyes: The dumbing down of America is nearly complete. I hope we can reverse this shocking trend before it's too late, before America goes completely down the shitter.
