Best retort to Kerry smear....that I have heard yet: |
|
I've read all of the blogs and posts that say what the Dem reaction to the attempted Kerry distraction should be, and this is the best I saw. It was from a poster at Josh Marshall's place. Every Dem on TV should be saying this:
"Republicans would rather attack political opponents than the enemies of America. Word games and smear attacks are really all they know how to do. If they knew how to attack America's enemies, wouldn't they have done more than stay the course for the last three years?"

11. Kerry, didn't tell the story right |
|
He is absolutely correct, if you don't go to college and get a job, the middle class jobs are being sent to foreign countries, immigrants are taking the lower classed job, nothing left for young americans to make a living other than go to Iraq..Now isn't that exactly what was going on in Vietnam, with the average Joe fighting and the righ republicans kids in college. Then came Superman...Bobby Kennedy, with the thing of drawing the little balls out and when you number came up everyone born on that date was off to Vietnam, the college campus was seeing young men leave immediatly..when that number came up...You know what, didn't take long for that war to stop after the republican kids had to go.

6. Bush doesn't care about losing lives, |
|
only about losing in the polls. He didn't do anything about 'stay the course' until the Republicans started losing.

9. my only complaint with that post is that it refers to "three years". |
|
it's more like four and a half, or five years
don't forget those years of 'futility,' the years when bin Laden COULD have been caught, even according to CIA/Army officials who were THERE

10. Kerry misspoke. Hotline reported that he has used this line before. |
|
Only republican voters are sufficiently stupid that they are incapable of seeing the irony of Bush and his followers attacking Kerry (or anyone else) for misspeaking.

14. Exactly! Since when did we have a president who could demand an apology... |
|
...from a US Citizen just for speaking his mind!? That's what's really shameful here.

Republicans will take the easy way out and attack political opponents and forgo the difficult task of attacking the enemies of America.
Or Republicans prefer to attack their political oppoenents than attack the enemies of America. But then they're incapable of attacking the enemies of America.
