The reason Republicans praise our troops and America.

Republicans hold our soldiers and the country in high esteem because it helps them promote their objectives and avoid being accountable for what they do.

In other words, the war in Iraq is noble because "America is a great country" and
if you are against the war in Iraq you are against our troops.

It's not that complicated. I'm not sure why others can't see through it.

I think people are seeing through it, though. My hunch is that Bush's little hissy fit over Kerry's words will just remind people that the Republican party is filled through and through with divisive, dishonest, manipulative bastards who will stop at nothing to keep their power.

3. They don't give a shit about our troops

It's called fucking lip service. They talk as if they support the troops, but behind their backs, they skimp on protective gear, overpay contractors who give our soldiers tainted water, and kick veterans in the teeth when they get back.

I just wish one Democrat had the balls (or the ovaries) to say, you know, my opponent can talk about how much he supports our troops all he wants, but he has sided with Bush every time he wants to cut funding for protective gear for our soldiers in harm's way and cuts funding for programs to help them when they get back home and leave the service.

4. Obfuscation

So they can obfuscate the fact that they screw them over in terms of health care, body armor, etc.
