19% of voters have developed a MORE favorable view of the GOP over the past few weeks
Moreover, 40 percent say that what they have seen and heard over the past few weeks — which includes the Foley scandal, the violence in Iraq and journalist Bob Woodward's unflattering portrayal of the Bush Administration's handling of the war — has given them a less favorable impression of Republicans holding onto control of Congress (that figure is down seven points since the last poll). Just 19 percent believe it has given them a more favorable impression.

4. Morons?
The extended families of the American oligarchy? You do know what they are most afraid of? Losing their ill-gotten wealth and being poor. It is the only way to get their attention.

8. Ya gotta remember,
By normal standards about 20-25% of the country is bat shit crazy. Serious, for every couple normal level headed people you find, theres at least one who has notions like it's ok to beat your spouse, or kill an abortionist, beat a queer, screw a kid, rip off the less fortunate, think slavery is ok, or rape, etc.

12. That's great news...
Polls are saying that support for a Democratic congress is higher than it has been in the past few weeks. I'm glad this country is waking up!

14. The post, perhaps...
Only 19%. These bastards are down where they are supposed to be. Seems people in this country don't like being taken for fools by the GOP after all.

15. lol! You mean they LEARN after 20 years? LOLOL!
Just like Churchill said I guess - Americans can always be counted upon to do the right thing - after they've exhausted every other alternative.

17. It means nothing at all
You see, if you offer that option in response to a poll question, i.e. that the person has "more favorable view" of Repubs than a few weeks ago people will pick that response simply because it is the most extreme pro-Repub view. Their actual opinions of Repubs haven't changed of course; they are just insanely right wing and thus pick the most favorable response.

If you were to ask the most virulent anti-Dem person you know what they think of Dems they would of course tell you they are the most vile people on earth, and yet if you asked in a few weeks whether their opinion had gotten better, worse, or stayed the same they would tell you "worse". Just because they can.

Logic aint their strong suit.
