Republicans Can Say Whatever They Want. Democrats Shut Up. |
|
Republicans can call us un-American, supporters of terrorists, immoral and lacking family values. They can lie about our Democratic representatives' voting records and what they say in their speeches.
But, God forbid if a Democrat dares to fuck up a joke about Bush. He must apologize (even though he didn't say what he's accused of saying), sit down and shut up until after the election.
I just heard David Gergen and Andrew Sullivan on CNN stating exactly that. Apologize for something you didn't do and shut up. They accused Kerry of letting his ego get in the way.
Which is it, MSM? Do you want Democrats to stand up for themselves and fight back, or do you want them to sit down, shut up and act like wimps??
I never hear them advising Republicans to apologize for the idiotic comments they make every damn day.
Kerry did good in his press conference, but he needs a 2 sentence response that's simple enough for the MSM.
Kerry should just say, "I screwed up a joke about Bush. If Bush and the Republicans are too stupid to figure that out, then screw 'em." (Of course not in those exact words.)

1. Have you seen all the DU threads on how Kerry should just shut up? |
|
and not have fought back? and kept his mouth shut? and just lay low? etc etc etc.
So it is not just the republican talking heads/MSM saying this.
Personally I am proud of Kerry today -- He stood up for Dems, for the troops, and for Americans against this lying pack of creeps.

5. Kerry should NOT shut up.. he should continue on the offensive... |
|
he should call out Bush for the pathetic little snot-nosed, cowardly brat that he is. Shutting up, backing down, quietly 'taking the high road' is a huge mistake. All these people understand is smear. So give it to them

3. Kerry did respond, and I did hear Gergen and Sullivan. They |
|
really tsked-tsked Kerry, and if they saw Kerry's response, they weren't talking. Very weird to me.

4. Yeah, I'm sick of those tired fucks too. Kerry did well.. |
|
...but I would love to see him come right out and demand an apology from every lying piece of shit responsible for the deaths of 3000 of our own, and COUNTLESS innocent iraqi's in their attempt to secure the world's resources for their elite paymasters.
The dems need to take a lesson from the Republic party and begin nasty, mean-spirited smear campaigns against every last one of the republic party's candidates.

6. just all one big soap opera to the fast-becoming-useless media. |
|
If this becomes a blow out, no one will watch and listen. Anything that happens that can be perceived as making this more of a horserace is good for the moneygrubbing media.
There is no soul, no care of the public of the media. It is all about money.

7. I'm glad somebody has said this.... |
|
I keep hearing how Democrats and the Democratic party doesn't stand up and fight and how we are so wimpy. Then someone stands up and says something with some fortitude and we're told to apologize!!!! No way! It's about time we were heard. We all know what Kerry was meaning....it is Bush and the administration that have been too dumb to figure out what Kerry meant by the comment!! That's what needs to be commented on--how DUMB our leader is that he didn't even understand the comment--that it was directed at him!!! DUH!
Kerry need NOT apologize! It's the administration, stupid!

8. This is what happens in a one party state. |
|
Lenin’s idea in the USSR was to have internal debates inside a single party. That’s what we’re seeing now - they’ll have a debate, but in the end, bush is always right.

12. Brush should be apologizing to troops! |
|
Did Brush apologize when he made the offensive "joke" about looking for weapons of mass destruction at Press Club Dinner. No way....he and Cheney both said to F*ck off. The corporate media said to Dems who questioned the tastelessness of the "joke" to get a life - and that was the end of that story. Kerry should ask media if Brush will apologize for his offensive "joke" about what got us into Iraq war.
