Hit'em Back Harder, Harder

Hit'em Back Harder, Harder

John Kerry’s getting plenty of support for his tough response to today's Republican distortions of his comments on education, George Bush, and Iraq. Retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General Claudia J. Kennedy, the first woman to achieve the rank of three-star general in the United States Army, defended Senator John Kerry today in the wake of right-wing attacks. In a statement, Kennedy said:

"Senator John Kerry has served our country with great distinction, both in the military and in the United States Senate. The men and women of our armed forces know they have a friend and tireless advocate in John Kerry. When it comes to Iraq, he's right to stand up against baseless attacks, and right to keep fighting for a better course for our troops and our country."

1. And don't bring a knife to a gun fight
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 08:27 AM by C_U_L8R
when they hit one of our guys. we ALL need
to knock the republicans back on their heels.
They are vulnerable right now... they jumped all
over Kerry without realizing that all roads lead
back to Iraq and their own fuck ups.
Use it. And smack those republicans down. HARD.

It's time to FINISH this... for good,

3. I LIKE that sentiment!
It's time they be held to account.

IRAQ! IRAQ! IRAQ!

Let's keep pounding them.

2. Harder means upping the ante -- saying Impeachment or War Crimes
It doesn't matter how much he couches it. He could even say:

"If I were President and had led our nation into this quagmire, the Republicans would be calling for my impeachment" (or "would be calling me a war criminal").

But he needs to get the words into a comment. In direct response to the bushkid.

It's the only way he can up the ante -- move the game -- and put them on the defensive.

Right now, they've set the frame and gotten the last word. Unless he turns the boat into the shore at them the story will be:

"Kerry's bonehead comment that may have insulted the troops, which caused ... (whatever they feel like blaming on it)."

(Yes, I know what the reality is. But no WMD and stolen elections are realities too.)

If he just leaves it at, "I've said my piece," or worse, waits for strategery reasons, he's weakly capitulating to the Euphemedia parrots squawking "he's hurting the party, oh my!"

If he did take the initiative to "up the ante" or "move the game," this could be a watershed event, where the DC/Euphemedia Analstocracy -- including the careerist, toady Dem "strategist" members -- get an object lesson on just how detached from reality their worldview has become.

He hasn't got much time. And if past non-performance is any indicator, I wouldn't hold my breath.

4. He's going to keep slamming them on Iraq and on Bush's
inability to do anything right.

As for impeachment, don't count on any Democrat to say that right before the election. Kerry's not running, but others might be hurt by that. Taking Congress is the priority for another week.

I think he'll keep Iraq and Bush front and center to the finish wire though and that is a very, good thing.
