Then I seriously give up.

I mean, really, whats the point? After Iraq and no WMD's and Katrina and Foley's behavior and Republican leaders HIDING Foley's behavior and Bush lying about the war and under funding our military and stripping our rights away piece by piece and torture and wiretapping and insane oil prices and Allen's racial remarks and Hastert's lying and a record budget deficit and the mocking of Michael J. Fox and the severe abuse of power and Harriet Miers (JeSUS!) and The Downing Street Memo and Jack Abramoff....

Jesus Christ, I could go on!

If all it takes is this stupid, stupid remark to turn this around for the right. Then I don't know what to say. Maybe the rest of America deserves these guys for a few more years...

3. That ship has sailed. Don't worry, my friend.
The MSM might try to cook this, but remember the polls today. No stupid remark is going to turn this tide around, and if it does, why then you can believe the machines are filthy. How many died in Iraq in October, 104? For an Iraq in chaos?

America is easily distracted but they are not all in all braindead. We will take back at least the House, and that is exactly where we were two days ago. Rest easy.

4. Call me a heretic, but we are not winning this elections, the Repukes are losing it
We are not winning converts to our views as much as some are no longer comfortable with the incumbents. Yes we will have more seats, hopefully a majority in each house, but not because we have new converts, but because we stank less. That is not a long term approach to success, but I'll take it as a start.

As for Kerry, a misconstrued remark can have a large impact in such an environment. Not sure how to recover from it, but from what I have seen around me, a large number of people took it as a slap at our soldiers, not the President. In the end it is the responsibility of the communicator to ensure that effective and correct communication occurs. It did not happen in this case. The meme of blaming the media and stupid people does not change the fact that he did step in it to some extent. The good news is that I doubt it will influence a single voter.

6. It's not going to.
They wish. They're going to have to steal this like every other one if they want it that bad.

But I was stunned at Kerry's comment. I actually said out loud to myself in the car "you stupid dumb bastard, how could you say that and not hear how it sounds one week before the election?"

Yes, we know what he meant.

But what a way to lob a grenade at your enemies that gets lobbed back...

This was JUST THE KIND OF STUPID remark that the neocons can try to twist into something TOO CLOSE TO THE ELECTION. And THAT'S WHAT REPUBLICAN WHORES DO.

Kerry needs to hire much better speechwriters to avoid these mistakes.

RAW
