Iowa candidate asks Kerry to cancel campaign visit
Iowa candidate asks Kerry to cancel campaign visit

DES MOINES, Iowa A Democratic Congressional candidate from Iowa is canceling a campaign event later this week with Senator John Kerry.
Brucy Braley says Kerry's recent comments about the Iraq war were inappropriate.

Braley is running against Republican Mike Whalen in Iowa's First District congressional race. It's a contest considered to be one of the most competitive House races in the country.

Braley's decision to distance himself from Kerry came as a furor grew from comments Kerry made about the Iraq War during a campaign stop in California on Monday.

1. I think Kerry should cancel the rest of his campaign stops...
Let him do it, not the candidates....

4. I agree, but NOT BECAUSE HE DID ANYTHING WRONG
only because the corporate media and the filth that is this administration want to use it as a distraction

6. I don't think you can blame the candidates on this one
the media and the administration want to use this as a diversion, so if Kerry doesn't appear, the whores will not be able to manipulate the news or spread their lies

16. respectfully you are looking at the short term, and falling in their trap
Kerry is much smarter than that, and knows that the repukes and media would love for HIM to be the issue, and HE WILL NOT GIVE THEM THAT FAVOR

He already made it very clear that bushco is the one who should appologize for the lies, and what they have put our country through, now we just moveon

No need to push it any further, people can see exactly what a failure this administration has been

We need to win, NOT divert attention on a media created event

3. I don't blame Kerry or Braley for this
The media intentially caused this. You see not only should the fucking bush administration appologize to the troops for the Iraq war which was based on a lie, but so should the fucking media

They both are responsible for the deaths of over 2800 Americans, over 30000 Americans wounded, and over 200000 dead Iraqiis. May they both burn in hell

The good news is that people are realizing that they have been lied to, and used for the last six years by the corporate media, and this administration, and in one week the beginning of their demise will start

5. Yep! Their is still time to turn it around though.

I am sure Dem's are putting together their strategy to educate the public on the facts and rip Bush a new one. Then again, they may decide it's best to let it blow over so focus goes back on those who are actually running.

7. If you guys don't see what is going on, then open your eyes.
Then has very little to do with Kerry, and a hell of a lot to do with fear of the right wing.

It is called the Stockholm Syndrome.

10. Of course, but as long as we realize it
then we will remove their diversion so they will have to focus on failure of this administration in Iraq.

Remember we attacked a country that had NOTHING TO DO WITH 9/11

17. So what, Kerry already said that it is THIS administration who should
appologize, nothing more needs to be said. This is NOT about Kerry, it is about winning

and right now the media wants it to be a diversion. There is nothing cowardly about NOT BEING USED BY THESE CREEPS

It is smart politics

27. It is NOT a question of BEING AFRAID
It is a question of winning. You are MAKING THIS ABOUT ONE PERSON, KERRY, IT IS NOT ABOUT HIM

and that is what the media will make it about NO MATTER WHAT YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE

You really want to cause a diversion, because that is exactly what you will get

When you are THIS CLOSE TO AN ELECTION, THINK!!!

Bush is going to be on Rush Limbaugh's show tomorrow trying to keep this alive. Dem's need to take a stand and put a stop to this crap! I would like to see a group of high profile Veterans challenge Bush and turn the tables on him.

12. "Late in the day, Republicans challenged Braley to repudiate the remarks."
“We’re upset with the partisan bickering that’s going on between Kerry and the White House,” Giertz said, adding that it does not contribute to a solution in Iraq.

He said that Braley thought Kerry’s remarks were “inappropriate.”

Late in the day, Republicans challenged Braley to repudiate the remarks.

Russ Perisho, a spokesman for Whalen, said the campaign expected to make a comment after Braley and Kerry appeared together Thursday. But after being informed of Braley’s decision, Perisho said, “It appears to us Mr. Braley is trying to separate from someone whose views parallel Mr. Braley’s right up and down the line.”

The furor was from Republicans! Look where caving got him!

If Braley can't take the heat now, imagine him in Congress with Repigs waving dirty money at him to get his vote. I hope the twit loses.
