US Heats up Nicaragua Elections
Managua, Oct 31 (Prensa Latina) The United States jacked up pressure Tuesday to avoid a victory of Sandinista candidate Daniel Ortega, who is leading polls five days before the presidential and legislative elections begin.

The new agitation is from the US Congress, with at least three legislators in favor of revising relations with Nicaragua, which they say could include blocking family remittances if Ortega returns to power.

"This measure would directly affect the hundreds of Nicaraguans living in United States more than the Sandinista government," .........

From other articles on the subject Ortega's lead is so great he should simply win the election outright without a run off.

1. I wonder if the Busheviks will start having their people killing priests & nuns
If Ortega wins. Do they have enough assets in Nicaragua to corrupt their elections like an Amerikan election?

If so, Ortega could never win and the priests and nuns are safe.

But I do wonder if the Imperials will start murdering Nicaraguans with regularity iof they "choose wrong".

I'd also wonder what the Busheviks would do to the Imperial Subjects of Amerika, but our voting system, is so badly corrupted that I don't think it's possible to "choose wrong".

2. The friggin' morans in our govenment should worry about cleaning
up their own sleeze and keep their noses out of everyone else's politics.

Considering the rep they have for ignorance, corruption, and perversion, they need to work on their own image because I don't think they're impressing too many governments around the world anymore.

5. What a frickin' mess.
Wtf are we doing there? I've been there, and when I was there in the late nineties, people were still pretty pissed. The American embassy looks like a tank-proof bomb shelter instead of an embassy, and we're screwing up again. Leave them the hell alone!!!

7. Well, we certainly wouldn't want democracy to work.
If it caught on in Nicaragua it might have the "Domino" effect and the next thing you know we might have people right here in the NewNighted States demanding the same thing here.

9. Hence the second link above
If you read through it there is something decidedly odd going on as North's views seem to differ materially from official policy. I apprectiate it don't change the fact that North is anti Sandinista.
