Laura Bush on Michael J. Fox: ‘It’s Always Easy To Manipulate People’s Feelings’
http://thinkprogress.org/2006/10/31/laura-bush-michael-j-fox/

In an interview on C-Span, First Lady Laura Bush was asked about Michael J Fox’s advocacy for candidates who support embryonic stem cell research. Mrs. Bush responded that it was wrong for Fox and others to suggest that increased support for embryonic stem cell research could lead to cures for Alzheimer’s and other diseases.

She concluded with a thinly veiled critique of Fox: “It’s always easy to manipulate people’s feelings, especially when you are talking about diseases that are so difficult.” Watch it:

participation event:

madam first lady, what sort of scientific research was conducted by the drug companies for them to come up with Xanax, Mellaril, Lithium and other more advanced medications for what are generally known as Mental Conditions and Disorders...you know, the sort of medications of which you partake daily. for the sort of depressive and stressful states that you aim to control in your life with george?

6. Exactly....
She oughta know....I used to kind of sorta like Laura. Now I can see that she's nothing but an old slapper (I love British colloquialisms!), just like Babs "Beautiful Mind" Bush.

7. She should know
Her husband is a genius at manipulating the emotions of the American people, especially their least admirable ones. George Bush told the Canadian Prime Minister after 9/11 that it was his job "to manage the blood lust of the American people". Thankfully it appears the "blood lust" has been slaked and the American people have had it with the present war. It's no longer fun and exciting. Needs music and patriotic images from CNN to make it into wonderful Hollywood stuff. Getting too real now. I doubt if Bushie can whip emotions up again to the heights of frenzy even if he manages to cause another terrorist attack. The American people are temporarily fed up with war. They have terror fatigue and vengeance fatigue. Except for his lunatic base.

8. Say, Pickles (hic)....
...how's Jenna and Juiced doing? Did they join up and fight Bushie's war? Oh, what's that you said? I couldn't understand your incoherent ramblings what with you being high on Xanax and whatnot.

9. Its WRONG to discuss scientific research that could potentially lead to a cure for
awful diseases like Alzheimers, Parkinson's, etc??? What a jerk. I cannot, for the life of me, figure out why her approval ratings are as high as they are.

11. Manipulate feelings? That coming from Eva Braun's ghost?
The one with no feelings whatsoever? Because if she had feelings, sleeping next to the monster she lives with ought to have at least made her skin crawl.

How many of us could be that cold blooded?
