New Govt. guidelines:No sex until you're 30!
Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 09:52 AM by bif
WASHINGTON, Oct. 31, 2006 — If you're single and in your 20s, the federal government wants you to steer clear of sex.

That's the new guidance for states under the Department of Health and Human Services' $50 million Abstinence Education Program. HHS officials say it's not a requirement — just another option for states to combat what they call an alarming rise in out-of-wedlock births.

A record 1.5 million babies were born to single mothers in 2004, according to the National Center for Health Statistics. More than half of them were born to women in their early 20s.

1. I know another way to combat out-of-wedlock births, if they're truly
interested. Let GAY PEOPLE marry!!

Most of my gay-couple friends and acquaintances have kids. NONE of them are officially "married," though they are all committed. Letting them marry would solve that little "problem." But I guess they're not REALLY worried about that...

2. Or married
Great way to preserve the "sanctity" of marriage: encourage young people to form 30 day marriages. Maybe we should start putting expiration dates on marriage licenses so they don't have to spend so much money on divorce?

3. They should just give me the $50 million dollars....
Giving me the money will be just as effective as spending it on abstinence education...plus there's the added benefit that I could actually do something useful with it.

I'm sure that will go over really well
how do we stop sex? Maybe we can have women wear burkas, so us poor, defenseless hetero men won't be tempted by the sight of female flesh? Separate colleges for males & females? Or, maybe women should just stay home & not worry about education?

6. The human female has done a fine job of that in my case
I don't need help from the government in that department.

If a roadblock is put up, would that still be considered steering clear?

Not that a whole roadblock is needed, I ride a freakin' bike(not the vroom-vroom one). Wait a minute, might have found the problem.

7. Considering who's running the government...
or at least who has "influence" over those who are running it, we'll be lucky if sex isn't abolished except for "properly" married (only man with woman) of proper age (30+), and who are active, respected members of the national religion (Christ-ianity) who have formally filed the proper papers requesting to produce children, have had the appropriate medical tests (both physical and psychological), and who, in the estimation of the Local Federal Procreation Counsil, would produce children with "desirable" qualities (undisclosed). And then only as necessary and sufficient to achieve pregnancy with no excessive delay... Otherwise, sex is evil--and anyone who says otherwise is a blasphemer and guilty of sexual sedition, as well as disallowed speech in violation of Federal Speech Laws (but that, is another matter).

So, have sex now, and as often as you can; stock up on birth control items and enjoy your freedoms while you still can. Of course, if Democrats do take back a majority in Congress, the Republican Anti-Sex Campaign will be probably be stymied until they can steal another set of elections, so you may be able to wait a couple of years before having to worry.

9. This is absolutely outrageous
The Federal Governnment is telling people when they can and can't have sex?!

Why? Better yet, why the hell are we allowing them to dictate this to us?
