24. DSB, this is the response of nearly every one facing a bully...
"I just want it to go away!!!"

Well, bullies DON'T just go away when their strategyis working. MJ Fox stood up to Limpballs and his little strategy backfired. Well, if we all stood together and attacked back on this Kerry issue, the same would happen.

The problem is that the REPUGS know that many of us on the left will NOT want to fight back and will sit back, let the damage be done, hoping it will all go away. Will we never learn?

10. Of course the corporate media is just trying to be fair and balanced
They know what Kerry meant and of course lead off with *'s quick defense of the troops. GMAFB. Kerry should just go away until the election is done so this goes away. Nothing personal but he's not the issue and can't be made to be.

Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 10:39 AM by Jim4Wes
He was talking to students about having opportunities, he knows that drop outs are targets for recruiting, that is the context. I do not believe the joke excuse. I do not believe he meant to slur the troops. I do believe he commented on recruiting practices in a clumsy way.

he's talking to students about education, the importance of it, and without naming Bush who has an education btw, he implies they might lead a country into a quagmire without an education?

Edited on Wed Nov-01-06 11:19 AM by jsamuel
you can add in all you like about the place, time, and other junk, but it is OBVIOUS he was talking about Bush.

He said "Before I start talking about education, let me say this..." then said the joke. He wasn't talking about them yet. And the part of the joke that was stressed was "WORK HARD and STUDY HARD" unlike Mr C- Bush. Yeah he has a bought education. The guy is as dumb as a rock.

Have you even watched the video or are you saying this stuff while being ignorant of it?

The gaffe occurred and you'll (and Ford) just have to put up with them making a false issue of it in the races or redirect the focus back on them.

47. If I was looking how he votes on issues............
I live California so it's not my choice anyway but to answer the question

He is running down the middle of road, but it's not the middle of the road I would be comfortable with.

Another DINO in making it looks to me. Every time the corporate oligarch says jump most of the DINO's do so why should I want that? This whole thing with the distortions of about Sen. Kerry is a prime example. The corporate noise machine is playing the GOP tune with the smear Sen. Kerry and this Rep. Ford is dancing along with the whole thing because he is afraid of them.

How Rep. Ford votes is here
http://www.ontheissues.org/House/Harold_Ford.htm

Living in reality is sometimes painful but often necessary, voting for the lesser of two evils still will give you evil.

38. This is madness.
Kerry didn't refer to someone as a monkey.

He didn't refer to a reporter as a "major league asshole" on a live mic.

And he sure as hell didn't crack a joke, also on a live mic, about declaring nuclear war on Russia.

This will not blow the Democrats' momentum. No way.
