God damn, people think I'm some kind of an appeaser because I don't think it's smart to try to impeach Bush if we get the House back. But this Kerry stuff is RIDICULOUS. I wake up this morning to see people like Harold Fold actually calling for Kerry to apologize.

I am SO FREAKING SICK OF THE SPINELESSNESS. How many times do we have to go through this before we get it? The media are not our friends, but we can't run away. It only increases the damage- as we have seen countless times before.

Kerry was referring to BUSH. THAT is how you respond to this. Not with apologies and crying and begging. Every time someone brings it up, THAT is what you say. And then you make them drop it.

What you do NOT do is get scared and calculate your actions to "make it go away." This affects all of us. If Kerry goes down, we go down. In for a penny, in for a pound. If he looks like a coward, we ALL look like cowards.

And while it's cowardly for candidates like Harold Ford to cut Kerry off at the knees, like he did, it is UNBELIEVABLY so when DUers, of all people, do it. It is pure weakness of will.

What, are you running for something? Or do you expect to get through this without a scratch? Forget it. Dammit, show the American people what the hell we're made of. Show them we have CHARACTER. That is what they care about. That is what they respect. AND WE ABSOLUTELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY *CAN NOT* LET UP IN OUR OPPOSITION.

If you don't want to see it, don't watch TV. In fact, that is exactly what I would recommend- the media has sucked us in. They may KNOW, in fact, that they are distorting what he said, but they want us to watch- to WAIT for them to CORRECT it. Don't play that game. Put it to them, but don't watch. Don't let them benefit from their distortions.

If you're scared, and you want to run and hide, fine. Some of us are newer, and haven't felt the heat of this kind of battle before. But, if that's you, shut up. Don't sap other people's morale. Don't drag Kerry down with you. Just leave until you tape your balls back on.

I don't think we should make so much of this. If he wins he will still be a Dem. If he doesn't then the party will survive without him. He has to run his campaign the best way he can, right or wrong, this is not the time to trash a Dem. trying to get elected. Plenty of time later for talks with the leadership.
