Had Enough?

Have you had enough? I have. In no particular order, the biggies:

I've had enough of the bush lies.

I've had enough of rubberstamping republicans repeating rhetoric.

I've had enough of being told the economy is doing great when it's harder to make my paycheck stretch.

I've had enough of being told we're "making progress" in Iraq. From what I've read, the only thing progressing in Iraq is the death toll.

I've had enough of the fear tactics.

I've had enough of being told al-qeada's #2 man has been killed (again, again, again, again, and again). What is he a freaking cat with nine lives?

I've had enough of being told the world will end and we will be reduced to smithereens if the Democratic Party takes control in Congress.

I've had enough of rubberstamping republicans raking in lobbyist money in exchange for "favors" which end up screwing the rest of us.

1. I've Had Enough Of

Pampered little boys who had deferment after deferment attacking the patriotism of men who served in Vietnam - like John Kerry, Max Cleland & John McCain.

2. I've Had Enough Of

Rethuglicans naming everything in the U.S.A. after the SECOND worst president in U.S. history (and breaking 200-year-old Naval tradition by naming ships after living ex-presidents.) It's NATIONAL AIRPORT. PERIOD. There's a latrine on Gitmo without a name - that would be a more suitable place for Ronnie Raygun.

3. Here's what I have NOT had enough of:

Equal rights for all Americans, regardless of income, race, gender, sexual preference, physical ability, religion, or national origin.

Access to a quality public education for all Americans.

A society in which nobody has to die broke in the gutter.

Respect for the elderly.

Affordable health care for all.

A society in which nobody has to worry about how they'll survive when they grow old.

A military strategy that protects and defends our country, rather than endangering us through reckless adventuring.

An economic model that doesn't reward predators.

Media that serve their customers rather than their puppetmasters.

Labor policies that work for those who rent apartment as well as those who own five homes.

Environmental policies that reward conscientious, healthy growth and punish greedy polluters.

Energy policies that are designed for our great-grandchildren, not today's investor class.

An immigration policy that respects those who've come here seeking a better life, without reducing wages and quality of life for those who were born here.

A public sector that attracts the best and brightest and encourages--no demands--the very best of them in service of the people.

These are just a few off the top of my head. It's easy for me to state what I'm against. I want to stay motivated by remembering what we're fighting FOR.
