Poll question: Kerry kerfluffle post
Have you or anyone you have spoken to - changed their minds about who they are going to vote for because of the Kerry kerfluffle?

1. No change
I was not going to vote for Kerry this election before, and I still won't.

2. This misses the point. It gave the media a chance to get off
the public's feeling about the war and the Dems momemtum. Many many voters go with where they think the momentum is.

Losing the message that Dems have momentum as a top story is an unfavorable result.

3. Boy, if you thought the Republic Party was desperate . . .

for something -- anything -- that would change the landscape of this election, you should see the MSM. They're terrified that the lack of high points leading into Tuesday will cause viewers to tune them out, costing them big bucks. This when they're expecting (and their corporate masters are demanding) substantially increased viewership since this is the hottest midterm election in recent memory.

I think we can and should make an omelet out of this broken egg. All the commentators (and pols) saying Kerry should have apologized and this issue would have gone away are dead wrong, IMO. Kerry lost the presidency largely because he was perceived as a weakling, and much of that perception came from the fact that he let the Swift Boaters shove turds up his ass. Since no reasonable person (a category that apparently excludes pols and pundits) could see Kerry's remarks and think he was actually insulting US troops, defending himself vigorously -- and calling 'Licans despicable, which is a pretty good description -- is exactly the right thing to do. A little backbone goes a long way here.

Dems watching the 'Licans attempting to spin this one up are just as or more likely to be irritated and more motivated to vote than this incident is likely to get a few more knuckle-draggers out of their caves on Tuesday.

Handled with a bit of boldness, I see this as a win for the good guys.
