WASHINGTON, Nov. 1 /U.S. Newswire/ -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on President Bush's failed policy in Iraq:

"Last week, President Bush said that the U.S. was winning in Iraq. However, according to media reports, the U.S. Central Command judges the situation in Iraq to be near chaos, with 'violence at all-time high, spreading geographically.' That President Bush sees increasing violence as 'winning' is further evidence of how far out of touch he is with what is actually happening on the ground in Iraq.

"One-third of the U.S. casualties in October were suffered by troops on their second or third tours, and with security decisions in Baghdad apparently increasingly dictated by the militias, it is long past time for a new direction in Iraq."

Go Nancy Pelosi. I'm so glad you are the minority leader, and future Speaker, instead of Ford.

18. Right Wing pressitute Bob Woodward agrees with Madame Speaker
His Book, Denial is chock-a-block full of RW bias, but Woodward makes a number of telling points.

First of all, Donald Rumsfeld thinks he knows more about fighting war than all the officers in all branches of the military combined. His choices for Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have been based on who would kiss his ass and be his yes-man. Rumsfeld is the worst possible kind of person to be the Secretary of Defense.

Secondly, TruthLess Leader only wants people around him who agree with him. He will not listen to or learn from criticism. Being surrounded by yes-men and yes-women, TruthLess Leader is not in touch with the reality in Iraq and hasn't been for a long time.

Nobody in TruthLess Leader's inner circle of advisers will confront him and say the war in Iraq is going badly, it's getting worse and "staying the course" is not the answer. They are all too cowardly to do it.

Finally, when someone like Chuck Hagel does try to tell him the news, TruthLess Leader immediately confers with Cheney and Rumsfeld who tell him he's doing the right thing in Iraq.

It's a recipe for disaster and will only get worse.

21. I don't believe Bush is out of touch, he is lying and being deceptive to the people
about the true events happening in Iraq and Afganistan.
The CIA stated in 08/2005 that; "if the current situation back then continue, there would probably be a civil war in Iraq by mid summer of 2006"
